Sorry to say I'll not be there this year. Blew my travel budget going to Pebble Beach in August!
Really looking forward to Mazooma's photos....the Dougster is the best.

Coolest event of the year! The whole experience of Bakersfield:

The smell of the compost (I think it's rice hulls?) all day
The smell of beer and hot dogs in the Grove

quick question for you guys. how far are the hotels from the track and will it be impossible to get a room ? this will be my first time attending, thanks.

 

from downtown bakersfield to track is about 25 miles i guess, only rooms i know of are downtown. keep calling the downtown area hotels you will find a cancellation. its worth the trip!

 

If not Tulare CA is on your way from SAC and there is a Motel 6? right off the highway.

 

Be there agian this year doin' the same great stuff! Can't wait. Chili I'll bring my own bowl for some of the Hydrazine goodness!!!

Hey, think they'll be playing any ROCKABILLY at the show?

Can't wait for this one - hope it doesn't get rained out or anything like that.

 

Man I dont care if they do or not..I sure as Hell aint performing..I go there for the Killer Nostalgia Action and swap meet.It was nice to not perform at Billetproof this year and take my car in and relax and drink beer..Plus Id rather listen to RUSH anyways..lol..Im a prog rock geek...

 

But buy our CD and come to our shows..lol

 

Son & I are going for the first time, are there any rod shops with open houses, or any other “MUST DO” things while we are there ?? THX Bud
