This is the only car ive had that came with the floor still in it. I usually have to build a floor from scratch. The last floor i built i only had 1/8 inch plate and couldnt afford to go buy other metal so I ended up with a car that can go to Iraq and not worry about mines.
I think there should be a tech thread for this. This would help hundreds of people who don't know how to fix there floors and can't aford a proper fix such as this.
Believe it or not, a proper fix is pretty easy and not that expensive. Save the $50.00 you were going to spend on the skull shift knob and buy some steel. Buy your buddy a case of beer and borrow his mig welder. If you have no friends, a rental shop can help you out. You'll need an angle grinder and some snips as well. I can see not owning a welder but everyone should have a grinder and tin snips. Shawn
Hmmm, where have I seen this??? ohh yah , in my old 50 shoebox.. along with smashed coffee cans, license plates and plywood..
I have seen things like this on cars that comes us The car check in sweden like repars like this and want to see them soon aigin and not with that type of repar so we weld the floors with steel insted. it is much better to weld it up insted tape it
the tape is temporary "i dont even drive the car, so it wont hurt to sit there with it, it just keeps the bugs out"
Haven't you guys got access to JB Weld? Fixes EVERYTHING ! ! ! And you can shape it, sand it and paint it when you are done.
awww come on if your a true redneck just throw in a piece of plywood so your feet don't fall through and drive it lol i did that with my old vw rabbit till the front suspension came through the floor at me still got the car planning an a euro rat rod with a rover v8 in the near future
Hey it's not the best solution but it will work for a little while. I think maybe a little wire brushing before putting the tape down would make it last longer.
