My DOTD 2010 expierence (with a vid)

Just got home from the Day Of The Drags in Temple Texas and had a great time as usual.I actually made it to the third round of Eleminations before i got my *** handed to me by Hardluck (Aaron).They had big problems with the tree or the ones running it on our match up and we both had to restage a few times.The moral of the story is i lost my concentration over it and Aaron was on his game.My remedial .55 light to his great .09 was all it took .I lost with a 11.52 to his 11.90 .Aarons a great driver and was a good enough sport to not rubb it in too hard (but im sure it wasnt easy to hold back) .I out did my 11.48 from last year with a great 11.43 in the 1/4 and a 7.23 in the 1/8 on my first p*** of the day and was so stoked about it nothing could bring me down .If i had to lose im glad i lost to my freind .Also as promised i got a vid from my Dart of Dirtyjohns "T" and The Shocker showdown .Its a little fuzzy as my cheap *** camera and the vibrations of the Dart dont get along ,but its still pretty cool .Neither of us had a great p*** on this run ,but still it was awesome .I think i went like 11.54 and he went 11.62 on this p***.Johns "T" was impressing me as was his enthusiasm and i think he got a best of 11.50 during the day ,which aint too damn bad for a street driven Hotrod with a stick shift.Well anyway thanks to the Kontinentals for a great day as always and im already anxious for next year ...

 

(In my best KGB voice) He beacht me...give dis mehn his muney. Good job Daniel! You beat me off the line and I never had a chance. You run strong man!
p.s. Anyone else think that one guy in the vid bears a strong resemblence to Slater from "Dazed and Confused"?!

It was all Troy's voodoo doll that made the difference !! Hahaha !

That run was a strange deal. The guys in the tower must have been playing Tiddly Winks or something the first time we tried to stage. I was getting kinda aggravated because the car was getting warm just sitting there with it brought up on the foot brake and then the damn red lights started flashing. That's why I backed out. When I pulled back in the beams Daniel had both bulbs lit so I ***umed he was ready to go.

Oh well, that's drag racing ! We had a good time and will be back next year.....and going faster !

I really like that car. Was fun to see it run so good. I had a great time just watching. One day, I'm gonna have something to race.

 

It wasnt your fault Aaron .I looked over after i broke both the beams for the last time and saw you talking to the starter guy.My car was starting to load up with fuel so i kicked it back into nuetral for a second to blow it out (It doesnt like to idle in gear for 2 hrs on the line ).I looked back up and you broke both beams and a swear the guy was holding the start ****on when you broke the last beam .I yanked it into low gear as the lights were coming down and left at an idle .I knew right then i was ****ed .You pulled proly 25-30 feet on me and it was more than i could make up in a 1/4.The funny thing was i bent the throttle arm mashing it so hard on that p*** trying to catch you.BTW i saw you look over your shoulder more than once at over 100 mph ,to see how far back i was .I think my front fender was even with the back of you front tire when we went through ( iwas looking to ) .I looked at timeslip and the finish margain was .05 .There will be another day my freind ...

 

I hope no one got a vid of the p*** Aaron.I dont want Troy to see it and im glad he missed seeing it live .That crazy ****er was walking around all day with a Voodoo doll of me with a thread he stole from my shirt on it with a pin stuck in its head.My head was hurting ,but it was from all the beer i drank the night before.I always suspected him of playing with dolls in the **** when nobodies around .I guess he is finally coming out of the closet with his fetish ,but im glad he left his clothes on yesterday while he was playing with his doll ...

Had fun racing you John .At the rate your making progress with the "T" this vid may be the other way around next DOTD if i dont get it together.I have gotta do something to my Dodge to pick it up this winter .Its gotten to the point where its like racing my old ladies minivan .I have just got too used to it .I was really surprised that i was able to make it go faster than last year with the same parts and just a few more tweaks .Whats in store Turbo ,the long over do cam and head upgrades ,we shall see at the "Texas Thaw" ...

 

Ya ,im having a blast with it .Only Mopar i have ever owned and proly my last as i dont plan on selling it ,even though i was asked about selling it twice this weekend ...

 

Yeah, when we left I thought you broke or something happened, then when I didn't see you in the rear view mirror back on the starting line I knew the race was on and it was only a matter of time before you caught me.....it's a good thing we were only racing a 1/4 mile ! Anything more and you would have caught me ! HAHA ! Margin of victory--.059 !

Troy was ****ing cracking me up with that damn voodoo doll ! I was pissed when I got back to the pits and saw him laying there sleeping and BOTH of the digital cameras were sitting in the cup holders of the lawn chairs ! LOL !

SOMEONE has to have that run on video !!!

Looks like fun. Mid 11's you and DirtyJohn are doing great.

 

I even loaned Troy a sharpie so he could write that **** from my lucky T shirt on it in the morning .Troys easily amused ,kinda like a dog chewing an old shoe .I noticed that he had forgot to bring his snoopy bag with the crayons ,coloring book ,and play-doe ,so i felt sorry for him and helped keep him occupied ...

 

none of that stuff was needed this year, as i made the doll friday on the way down... haha..... btw its stuffed with down fethers and a pice of paper with your name on it.... i think i may bring it over and let your wife have it....lol....

 

My wife doesnt need a Voodoo doll to get to me ,she has her own method ...

 

now all you guys need to bring those rags to the csga nationals oct 31 at the valley , you can run g***er, super stock or hot rod .... gonna be a hell of a day ...

thunder valley raceway park at noble okla just south of norman, fiollow all the texas guys up I-35. 1/4 mile all concrete good payout lots of cars. last year was 185 cars more this year
