I was taken for a ride when I purchased a rebuilt C4 Transmission. It has been 3 months since I ordered the rebuilt C4 and now there is zero word from the scammer, Randy L. Harrist of the so called "RLH Transmissions" located in New Paris, Oh. His website looks great "Welcome to my Ford parts and Automatic Transmissions", tiptopwebsite.com.
I just wanted to alert all of you to this or maybe someone else has been stupid enough to fall for this guy's line of ****!

I am just curious on why you didn't just go with a local trans builder ? I mean a C4 is the easiest trans to build and come across plus ever small block Ford drag racer uses them . I have no idea on what you paid for the trans but Jegs , Summit and ever other catalog sells them . They are also on C/List all the time too . A very popular trans .
Sorry you got shafted though . I hate a thief !

notify authorities? if you used a postal money order for a out of state purchase its a Federal offense, call the postal inspectors. stop payment on a personal check? dispute charges on a credit card? What have you done besides complain here?

I agree with first two posters....quit whining and take the appropriate legal steps to either retrieve your money or get what you paid for. Contact the Attorney General in whatever state this rebuilder is in. Send them a registered letter outlining the situation with dates, check numbers, etc. People with business licenses must operate their business in an acceptable manner. The AG can at least take your complaint under consideration. See if the BBB has any other negative action on this person.

Last but not least - if you selected RLH over a local purchase because of price - how do you feel now?

The guy is trying to help us all out by giving the heads up! When I get terrible service or taken for a ride I do my best to let everyone in on the info.

I'm not complaining I just want to alert people about this guy. I've notified the company he works for, since he used their email address as a contact.
I haven't heard anything yet, but I would think that the company would have some questions to ask him especially when the company supplies transmission parts and other drivetrain items. Maybe he is stealing from them and re-selling. Who knows.....

contact a local hamb member to drive by the shop and inquire about your transmission. most thieves don't like local pressure and another option is contact local fraud detectives i'm sure they would want to be aware of whats going on in their area.

ok ok...thanks for the heads up. We do need to know about these type of people, so I apologize for inferring that you were just sitting on your ****** mount whining about the cruel world. Have you tried calling the company he works for?

I'll call his company Tuesday if I don't get a reply from my email....

I went out of town for a C4 because I wasn't having any luck finding a rebuildable core or anyone that had one....I know..I didn't look long enough. I definitely have learned my lesson. I guess I'm getting too old, my judgement wasn't too good.

I didn't expect any replies to this post but I really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks guys!

Received the C4 and the rebuild is very good quality...I'm satisfied...Communications was RLH's biggest mistake...I believe after communicating with Randy that his understands how important communications is when in business.
