Look man, we did not look up your club and steal your logo. We came up with the name and then discussed different ideas. The bomb with wings was thrown out because we all liked the flying eyeball and all that and thought it would be cool. So it is a purely coincidence that we have a similar design (or loosely similar as you say). But, you can find bombs with wings on a million other things as well ( I seem to recall a skateboard with a similar logo as well). No matter what you come up with now days, it seems there is going to be someone who is claiming it is theirs and that it is a rip off.

No dis-respect to your club but I think our clubs logo's are different from each other and both are cool.

Besides, we are a car club about cars and hanging out. We are not a gang looking for trouble over our "colors". It is just a T-shirt with the name of a bunch of friends who are into cars and hanging out. Hell, we'll buy you some beers if we ever run into each other. No need to start any bad blood. We have'nt even attended our first event yet as a club.

If you don't want MY opinion, don't post in a PUBLIC forum, send ME an PM. I believe I was only stating my opinion , as you had done on the previous post. Untwist your panties.

"The other one looks like it was photoshopped from wings of Journey's scarab drawing."

(you caught us on that one. we copied it off the cassette we had in our Camaro.)

    Kerry,

Nobody is gonna come to Arizona to start a dispute about your colors. But I think you should try to think about it in terms of this, redesign your logo with the Hells Angels "Death Head" stylings and see if they get mad because its just a T-shirt. The wingesd bomb is not the issue, the font, color of font, bomb placement in design, shading of font, ect.... are all very very very similar.

If the tables were turned, and our new logo looked pretty darn close to yours you would probobly have an opinion on the matter. I cant make you change it, just want you to understand that we dont appreciate it, and would encourage something a little less familiar. Shit even a different color font would be start....

Actually we are getting a different font. And our color is more of a bright yellow. What you are seeing is a first draft of a logo that we had someone work on. So it will be way different than what you is posted.

Stolen from Wikipedia: There is also a third version of a true Kustom, the "Bomb". These were the original Lowriders, which developed back in the '40s though the '60s alongside the other types of "Kustoms" These usually were similar to the mild Kustoms in that they emphasize keeping the car as original as possible, but using custom paint, chrome, and often covered with every type of bolt-on period correct accessory possible. Each addition accessory on a Bomb is like having one more little badge of honor. Bomb usually have heavily altered suspensions that incorporate traditional hydraulics setups, (the most authentic use discarded WWII aircraft hydraulic components, which were largely available after the war.)

Kerry77 - I just wanted you to know how we as a club feel about the situation. Not happy, but tolerant.

Bloody...if we were in the same location, they would be too similar I guess. But since we are a thousand miles apart, loosely similar like you say should not be an issue. It is all good....Like I said, no dis-respect to your club. We are just a few guys hanging out and nothing more. I don't think of them as colors. To me they are shirts. I don't belong to a gang like I said and I don't believe you do either.

Sorry bother but from a legal perspective you dont have a leg to stand on.The artist can only ask for royalties if the design is a direct copy , colors, style a direct replica...not similiar..it doesnt work like that.So the club in arizona can roll all day long with that design.

Stick to your gun's Bomb Squad from Arizona And if you really look at the Texas on logo it resembles more of a football with wings than a Bomb

Gimme a break man, I dont even have any affiliation with either club and I noticed the similarities immedeatly just from seeing the Korsairs jackets at the Round up. Its not about doing something illegal, or bieng the first person to ever draw a bomb with wings. Its that the Bomb Squad design is SO similar to the Korsairs logo it could very easily be seen as a copy ! The design, the font, even the damn colors. I dont mean any disrespect to the Squad, but I called it as soon as I saw this thread. If you cant see it your blind.

The artist of the "one and only" and completely "original" (relative to history) Bomb Squad logo thanks all of you for your compliments. If anyone wants to use it as inspiration, feel free. No fee required. Copying is lame though so try not to do that. If I had to create a logo with no other imagery that was used in any other car club logos, I would have been limited to no wheels, no wings, no wrenches, no bolts, no lightning bolts, no demons or devils, no skulls, no pinups or any images of the female form, no cars of any kind from the 50's body styles or buckets Oooor late 20's to early 30's. I think we can all safely say that there is nothing left in this world, especially when you are trying to give a nod to anything retro, that is new. Not having seen the Korsairs logo or known of their existence before drawing this logo, one can see how common place this imagery is.

I don't think Kerry was throwing it out their for approval. If we threw up a poll maybe All of the members of Every other C.C. could have come up with something like a penis with wings or maybe a steaming pile of poop with wheels for our logo for us. Can we agree how stupid this whole coversation is?? Let's not even get into the whole H.A. and doing something similiar to their logo. They have corporate lawyers and nationwide muscle to squash any nonsense like that any way they choose, so unless you are claiming some kind of affiliation or threaten, lets just not even get into that. We are just trying to start a local car club. We are not a criminal organization and we don't want to piss anybody off but we have settled on this logo and that's it. The font may change because we haven't really decided on that yet. Don't sweat it. No one is trying to be you.

If Kerry had not posted this, being about 1000 miles apart, neither one of us would have known of the others existence for years if ever. I suggest the rest of us on in the Bomb Squad just let this thread die. These posts always come across as people being self absorbed, self appointed experts with attitudes. I dislike them because you can't get a feel for the meaning behind the typed words. So no anger, no attitude in this, just common sense. Good luck in your car clubbing future.
