Starts tomorrow, was over at the fairgrounds today, huge swap meet started already lining up for when the gates open at 6:30 in the morning The 32 five window give away car sure would be a nice way to end the summer but maybe I will bring somthing new home.hope some of you all can make it,Read my lips This is a good one !!!over 3000 entered cars last year and it looks like the swap is much bigger
I made it around noon today. Nice weather nice crowd. This is Okies first trip and so far everything has gone well.
I returned from the Pumpkin Run today as happy as one could be, no not an awards or photo shoot............Just the fact thaI made my fist trip in him since he was built. First inline build for me and except for some roadside timing adjustment it went off great. I found myself cruising south towards home many times at 80-85 mph. Nothing like a trouble free road trip, and the fact that I caught up with some old friends and also made some new ones is icing on the cake........................
Man was it a mad rush for the gates when the rain started on Saturday. http://s1007.photobucket.com/albums/af196/cruiserphotos/Automotive events 2010/Pumpkin Run/
Not for me, checked out the weather map and figured it was coming, so I pointed Okie south around 1 P.M.
I left right when I saw the dark clouds approaching. The rain doesn't bother me but the traffic does. I went east and I never saw rain.
I did get kinda nasty.....never really rained hard but the friggin wind made you think it was. Hung around for the 50/50 drawing that I didnt win (darnit) by the way it was over $30,000 to split. Just got back about 30 minutes ago and really enjoyed the 300 mile round trip.....will definately go back next year.
johnb thanks for the pics i was there saturday spent WAY too much time in the swap and didnt get many pics but the ones i got all turned out blurry and fuzzy for some reason what mad dash for the gates are you talking about? we got inline to leave at around 330 where we sat until almost 5pm (i mean we literally didnt move an inch until 5) what abunch of ******** after all these years of haveing this show at the same location you would think that they would have the traffic **** figured out i heard them announce they had just under 2700 cars registerd anyone else have pics? please post them
While you were shootin pictures of my International, you should have stopped and said hi to me and Carlos!
I think next year we need to organize a HAMB Gathering. I'm sure a couple of you guys saw my late model (blue 66 Belair wagon) and laughed after looking at the interior. It's Blue & Orange, seems the guy who originally started it was going for a Woody Woodpecker theme.
John_B well a Pecker has it now!!! lol Thanks for the help on the awards, it made Puddin Head Choke up......
How would you like to have been the first guy they drew to win the car and he wasnt there. I can understand the second one with the family emergency and all, but the first guy just missed a sweet 32 Ford. My old truck didnt make any of the pics on here, but thats cool. I went to enjoy everyone elses craftmenship.
They had to call 3 numbers before they got a winner for the car. Hey John B, nice pics in your album. You even got one of my car. It was the Marina Blue 67 Biscayne with the tunnel rammed Big Block Chevy.
Had a great time this year, we were set up in the swap section with the Queen City Hot Rods banner and the '32 frame sitting out front. Met a lot of people from all over, great show! Carlos, I LOVE your car, PERFECT look to it!
I only took a few. Too busy looking. Some are NOT HAMB friendly. I took a few from requests. http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-4/151282/2142894
