Please forgive me if this has already been answered, I tried the search function and didn't find it. I have a '65 longbed Chevy I'm working on making something out of and a friend calls me yesterday and tells me he's found a '60 or '61 shortbed that can be had pretty cheap. It's just a frame and a cab, but he texted some pics to me and the cab is better shape than what I have so i'm considering buying it and dragging it home. As I remember, the 60-62 models had a torsion bar front suspension and parts to rebuild them can be pretty pricey so I thought I might want to swap the coil spring front suspension from my '65 over to it. Is it an easy swap or would it take a lot of modification? Back when I was doing this stuff before I was a Ford/Mopar guy so I'll admit I'm in a little bit of unfamiliar territory here. Thanks
I don't think it's against the rules, but if it is, sorry mods. 67-72chevytrucks.com I use their forum for finding answers for my 65.
A common swap for 60-62 torsion bar trucks is to put in a front crossmember (subframe) for 73-87 Chevy truck.
