I am the proud new owner of this lover-ly 1950 Dodge special deluxe 4 door sedan, mostly original, I'd say 95% or better complete and it even came with new rockers..

it's been sitting since 1988 or so, 218 is seized I'm told. .there is a radio and speaker on the front seat, not sure what model # but I don't think it came with the car.....

But I think with a bit of spit and polish, SOS pads and a pressure wash it will clean up

  6. $50.00 and now you're gonna buy your buddy a nice dinner, sounds like a money pit, better sell it to me for the $50.00 before you get in to deep and can't see daylight...:D Really, nice score, congrats, keep us all posted.

Congratulations - that looks like one hell of a find. Are you going to free up that 218 and rebuild it or do you have other plans?

in regards to the 218, I would love to do a complete stock resto on one of these 46-50 models one day, but I'm not sure this would be the one, who knows, maybe....but I'm already tempted to start scrounging for a decent small block drive line, where would I put it, is the question my wife would ask me, who knows......but maybe a 440, I'm still on the fence......curious exactly how stuck it is though......

This one would be a family car, cruise nights, to work when I get a job that is not at home.....;).

Mid-to-late 70s Dodge Diplomat (or similar fullsize Dodge model) will provide an excellent 318, with 904 or 727 Torqueflite. The 8.75" rear will be a near-bolt in, and front disc brakes an easy retro, with available kits...
But the drivetrain is the key. Easy fit, and spirited reliability. If you decided to sell it later on, its performance added to the fact that it's All Mopar would make it convincing.

  13. Nice little score you got. It looks to be the same color as my 2 door wayfarer. I put a 360/727 out of a 79 cordoba and an 8 1/4 rear out of a 76 aspen wagon in mine. Just make sure you get the drivers side exhaust manifold off of a pre 1967 dodge dart/plymouth valiant, its the only way to clear the steering box/shaft. I made the mistake of using the 67-72 manifold and it woulda been a ***** to squeeze in still. Are those homebrewed turn signals in the front fenders???

Wierd, I also noticed you have a different dashboard than any other 50 dodge Ive seen, Ive only seen square gauges and different radio faces(I lucked out and got one with the radio delete option)

Edit: Scratch that, I see that its obviously a "plodge" and you're in Canada, so it makes sense

yeah, it's *******ized, thanks Canada :D

I went today to grab the rims, and found the mopar radio that was left on the seat will fit the dash from the fast glance I took at it, i guess mine was a radio delete as well....if it was heater delete, i could tout it as the first factory superstock....not lightweight mind you:rolleyes:

just got my original rims skinned with brand spankin used rubber and all the tubes, yes I said tubes checked, all ok, so i can bring it home with the rusty green wheels with the coool red pin striping on them. This way i dont have to keep swapping wheels to have the projects rollin........

off to do the nursery school p/u...later

yup, both on the front and rear of the car they are hacked in, popular here in the late 60's, my buddy still has his dad's tells me he installed them at his fathers request.

    they're gonna go.

    and the 360 / 727 swap crossed my mind before i saw it........yah !

Pour some Marvel Mystery Oil in the spark plug holes let it sit for a few days and see if you can break it loose, maybe you can fire it up!

gonna gave to get it home soon, went this morning to put the front tires on it and jack up the back, found one lug bolt l/h thread missing - why that's gone ???... from inside the hood on the battery tray where i left all the studs, and the "e" that was on the hood laying on the tray with the pin broken off the back....i doubt the previous owner did this...i know i took 20 wheel bolts out last week and the e was on the hood sunday.

since he cut some trees down and moved the omni from in front of it its more visible i guess.

good thing i took the loose license plates and radio home with me.

Thanks Len, yeah, it was tucked in there behind an omni, the omni was gone when I went back with the cash, he never told me where it went, but said a few buys offered him 200 for the 50, but he said, "first come, first served", he just wanted it gone, I can understand, he said he had lost interest, if he is there when it's done, he'll get a ride.

are you right in Oakbank? I'm on the west end in one of the newer developments off Aspen
