Lokar has a positive lock. I've never had it fall out of gear but then again, I don't have a heavy knob.

  3. This is common knowledge, no need to bring it up again :)

Had a tall shifter in my pickup and it did come out of gear a lot. It had the stock knob on it too. Took it out and put the shifter on the column.

Lokar shifter wont pop out of gear, if you change from the factory knob you will need the Lokar adapter. The adapter makes it so you have to press down on the knob insted of the factory ****on.

What about using - Ford Aerostar Van Shifter OR extend length of early mustang shifter?

Wish I could say that, mine will downshift to 2nd on a hard bump, or up to 3rd from 2nd. But never down into 1st or into neutral.

Its all in the set up dude..trust me..

is it a floor mount or trans mount..not that it matters because i have both.and neither of them do this..as a matter of fact the way i have mine adjusted you gotta work at it to make it shift out of park, or drive.

dont go by the factory set up..these are not just 1-800 bolt it in and go, they are adjustable and usually are not set up for every type of config.

what trans? believe me..it makes a difference too

I've got a tall Lokar on a 700r4. It took a lot of work to get it to select all of the gears to the point where I had to modify the detents to get everything to work properly. Once set up, it never jumps out of gear and works great, even with a heavy knob.

It's a trans mount on a 350, I have played around with it, but don't really know what I am doing, just guessing. It is hard to get it into 1st, and it does move up or down from 3rd and 2nd.

It can be not real good, I was driving the car back from Pinks a few weeks back and on 680, hit a bump that dropped it from 3rd to 2nd on the freeway. The guy I bought the car from had welded a little thing on the trans tunnel to flip over and hold the lokar in third, that didn't work at all.....
