  8. there have always been shades of green on lots of cars out there, just like, flat black, scallops, flames, lowering, shaving, channeling, yada, yada.......it's just part of the Hot Rod Revolution and EVOLUTION. Only thing I don't get is fake Patina, but hey, each to his own.

Fuckit..i planned on painting mine green or some shade of it..2 years ago..

as ryan said colors dont get played out........

I dont change my plans just because it becomes something to others

60's Green was a popular color, and my build is 60's feel to it..so it seemed right.

Im not following anyone, and could care less what anyone thinks.

i know you dont want to hear it man..Just do what you have planned for that ride of yours and lets see it..be it Green..or whatever, your judgement on color is your vision, do it if its what you have in your head, and screw the naysayers

there are sooooomany shades of green..and only one flat black;)

GREEN belongs on grass not cars! OLD people back in the 50s had green cars ,never liked that color never will. YUCK. I once painted green candy flames on my roadster, stood back looked at it ,threw up and sanded off quickly. Then checked in to a mental hospital for evaluation.

  13. The new car manufacturers base a lot of their"new" colors on the economy. Years ago the hit color was silver and pewter reflecting an upswing in the money market, people responded with sales, I think there are more chevy trucks out there with those colors than any other color. Anyway then came the dark blue colors supposedly reflecting a downswing in the economy. Anyway in the last two years we are seeing so many shades of olive metallic green on all new cars ,imports and domestics. I am not sure what this reflects in the market, maybe they are relating it to money and are trying to get people to spend it! This info came from an article I had read a while ago. Irregardless, I plan on a green 49 Chevy coupe. Like someone said, now that it is in our minds you will see green everywhere except in a pay raise:eek:.

Hell,I don't give a rat's ass what turns out to be the new flat black, all I know is it will definitely be more interesting than the old flat black.
With the range of colours available these days the chances of you accidentally duplicating something "iconic" are pretty slim. What I'm trying to say is you might get hassle for copying someone else's flames, scallops, pinstripes etc etc, but not a colour with as wide a spectrum as green. I think you might be wasting your time trying to stay ahead of the curve, if green floats your boat then why not? If it does turn out to be the new trend, yours will still be green when the posers have moved on. Mine is candy red over silver flake, and some would say it doesn't come more cliched than that, but that's what I wanted, that's what I got, that's the way it will stay.
    Good luck man

If you are going to keep the car for more than a few weeks the fad will be over, if there is one. Plus trees are green too, and it worked out well for them.:)

I've been painting shit green for 20 years. I'm really just trying to trick the hippies into thinking they're low emissions vehicles.[IMG]

A color is a color. I don't think you should really pay attention to what other people are doing to their rides. Choose a color you like, and that you'll be happy with; because people are always going to be painting things different colors. If you're favorite color is green, paint the car green! Don't paint it some weird color just because no one else has that color.

I think the only time anybody could half-sensibly get mad about "copying" a color are the guys who are at the shows trying to win, and those people, well...

    Here's my Buick! (I didn't paint it!)

Pea Green, I hated it as a kid. Know I think it is a clean color.

A old car man I knew the late Mr. Zeno of Winchester, Arkansas.
would say when trying to sell a green car,its the color of money

30 years ago, I was going to paint my 49 GMC p/u dark green. Then I turned 16 and thought it needed to be bright red. Since then I have wanted a dark green pickup...so when it came time to pick a color for my RPU...there was no other choice but dark green.

The body will be the same color as the engine and wheels. No fad here...I just wanted it green.

I'm painting my car white, that way, if anyone bitches about the color, I can say "what color?" :D All kidding aside, I have always liked green, but as a couple guys have already said, the color should be picked based on the car and the way it is being built.

Mine's green but only because it was the only color Ace Hardware had enuff of! Nah, I like the color and I have not seen another one like it this year. It's all green now and a little darker than the pictures show.

My '55 is to be the same two-tone green my dad's '56 Bel Air was from the factory - Pinecrest Green and Sherwood green. I always liked that combination.

  30. I think green is a hate or love color! I hated green until I found this green for my 55!
