I can get 5 15x7 steel wheels. great shape only had tires on them once. No tire now. for 100 bucks. is that a good deal? is 15x7 too wide for the front? can go with a smaller tire.

Compared to buying them new, that's a great deal. Compared to having a friend give them to you free, it's not such a good deal.

Don't have any idea what car they're going on, so how could we tell you if they're too wide?

  3. too wide for the front of what? what are these wheels?

With it lowered, and who knows what rearend in it, it's hard to say if they'll fit. You have to worry about the offset (backspacing) and the rears could be a tight fit.

And steel wheels are not all made the same. Even "factory steel chevy wheels" since Chevy's been putting steel wheels on their cars for 80+ years

  7. i've never messed with a `54 chevy , but a friend had a stock one he put on chevy rally wheels on. i think he put 15 x 6 all around. he had some trouble getting the front wheels on over the front hubs , the center hole on the wheel was too small , he had it bored out to fit

i'd try to borrow them and try the fit first before buying

Don't know, but take into consideration that the wheel rim measures 8" wide edge to edge.
