I'm looking to get a new master cylinder for a 1955 Buick special..everything I find is only for manual brakes though and this car has power brakes..does anyone know where I can get one of these at?
What is it, one of those treadle-vac deals? You might have to rebuild the existing one, if you've got it.
I believe all the '55 Buicks with power brakes had the Treadle-Vac system and rustynewyorker is correct - get the existing one rebuilt.
yeah I think you guys are right, I didn't really look too close at it just was told by the previous owner that it didn't work...any idea how much they cost to get rebuilt?
mine cost me about 2 bills to rebuils for my 49 roadmaster but you should be able to get a better deal there have you tried rockauto yet ?
Would this be what you are looking for? http://www.oldbuickparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=76_89_356&products_id=6152 I've never used them but I heard whitepost.com does a kick*** job. Ryland
Unless you're in love with the original system, get in touch with bradslowmodela and get the details on this conversion. I'm familiar with the car...and the shop which did the work...and both are first cl***.
