You lucky ******* - that seems like a steal !! Fix that ****er up & drive the wheels off of it ... you'll love it .
Jus' gimme 'is phon # an' lemme do the negotiatin'! ;o) Seriously, I'd by them all day at that price. Especially if it's a V8. Take the plugs out, see if it turns with the socket & breakover bar. If it does move the crank then put a squirt of oil in each cylinder, move the crank a few times, put the plugs back in, a little gas in the carb. and it should start. Maybe even after only a few trys. (bet it runs) $4000 is a steal. Maybe it'll even have an overdrive transmission.
I cant belive in 2010 you got a complete 49 Coupe for that cheap! I even think it was worth $4000 for an original unmolested one... I always wanted a 49 but settled for a 50..
If that car had been on either coast, especially west it would have been gone in a day for 4K. You got a great deal and I bet you will have it on the road in no time. Luv them shoeboxes!
hey rustynewyorker i'll be in the albany area in 3 weeks. if you have one for sale at 2k-2.5k w/o rust let me know where to look at it. thanx larry
awesome, congrats on the deal ! make sure to get it picked up before someone else scoots in and snakes it out from under you
I have a 49 club coupe. It was just a shell with no drivetrain and no hood. Paid $1300 for it. bad rockers etc bad gl*** except rear gl***. I am into about 8k so far but now it sports a 305CI/700r4 bagged all around etc. i drive the piss out and enjoy the hell out of it! i like the Coupes a little rareier then the sedans etc. It would have been a good deal at 4k but you ended with a hell of price! Congrats!!
Good buy! Oh man, Bugsy, you're getting all fancy now! I think it's time to sell off some T parts (Decklid...?) to me now that you'll be driving in comfort and style.
Thanks fellas!!! Brent- everytime I see my decklid, I think of you!!! I'm looking for one for you man!!
good score!, an 49 club coupe is awesome!. , a friend is trying to force an 1950 ford tudor into my hands, hard to resist but nice to be having focus on the cars i already have but still,
Congratulations. I think you got a good deal. I paid a great deal less for mine, three years ago--but it was basically a body and a frame. You, on the other hand, paid ... nearly four times more than I did--but you got a complete car that will very likely run, and doesn't need a ton of body work. That's a deal. I spent a ton of money getting all the little knick-knacks it was missing. Great work. Now, please, post some pictures!
