Hello. (first of all i'd like to apologize if my English is bad sometimes) I've been surfin around here on H.A.M.B for quite sometime now, But havent posting that much. So now i thought this is my Time to start a Thread. It all started with that i got rid of my Buick -51 4dr and bought my self an Oldsmobile -47 Coupe. And man there is some serious Rust in this thing. But hey let's start cutting some **** up. My plans for this car is; First of all, Rust repair, then lowering it with airride (maybe triangulated 4link and a C notch) and i want to do a Chop of the roof. (it would be my first chop). The rear fenders will be welded to the body and i will shave the trunklid, hood, doors and bumpers.. I will build some custom Taillights, Any tips what to do with the headlights, Or should i keep them stock, i Kinda like them. The engine is original oldsmobile straight eight . i will keep that as long as i can i think. let the Pictures Speak for itself. First a Photoshoped Pic for some inspiration. (without the roof chopped, Please help me do a PS Chop) Pickup Day 4 September -10 The Second Build day. 7 September -10 10 September -10 13 September -10 And now here i am Today. 15 September -10 // Foppa
That will be beautiful... hell, she's beautiful now! Looks like you're moving right along. Keep us posted. There's a 47 here that's been for sale for a few years and I've thought it would make an amazing custom... looks like you're proving me right.
Foppa Your English is fine friend. You do better than a lot of the fellas that were born, raised, and educated here. I like the headlights also. You could french 'em I guess. Pretty simple task. You have one fine piece of machinery to start with. Good starting place. I'm not nearly as good as the rest of the fellas at this but here is about 3" off the top for ya.
Thank you all for the kind words. Today i didn't get much done in the Garage. I am waiting for some more sheetmetal and stuff so i can proceed with all the rust repairs. Orn, I know you do All i did today was that i removed the front springs to see how low it will get without them. But offcourse i'm gonna lower the frontend with some dropped A-arms (gonna rebuild them) And a serious Notch in the rear. a Little pic. As it sits right now the frame is about 4½" from the ground with 15" wheels. Way too much // Foppa
this is how I modified my headlights.. denise did something similar with her convert. using 53 chevy headlight trim rings. http://public.fotki.com/sawzallshop/woodie_wagon_progress/modification_of_the/ my car is clipped.. but is bagged with the stock rear suspension system.. photo shows the car "UP" hoping to get the car home to do some more work on it soon.
I like the direction your ride is headed. That thing is "***s" ! Perfect tire and cap choice. Keep the pics coming. Oh and looks good without the chop too, in my opinion.
Fantastic work in just a few week. Jonas and Per is my freinds and that good old Olds seems to be in god hands. Triangulatet 4-link? Look at my webbsite, I have done it to my Olds.

Man this is exciting, I love this beautiful body style and so few are around. I hope you retain those beautiful stock steel wheels with some nice whitewalls, those orig dog dish caps and trim rings or pinstriped rings on the wheels. Sorry, got a little excited about the cool hub caps, so rare and uber cool. Good Luck man, your work is spot on, thanx for sharing with us. ~Sololobo~
Your car is basically the same cabin as my chevy. PM me if you want the low down on how I chopped it.
thank you all.. Jaws; i've allready been checking your, chop thread, out.. I have saved all the photos that you posted so i have something to compare with. i really like your chop. it's spot on..
Here's a little Update! i've been a little lazy in the build for a little while now, but here's an small update what i have been up to in the garage. I've begun working on the floor and tearing the front down. I've started by doing some floor reinforcments, That i made of 40x40x2mm pipe. The plan is that i'm going to weld the floor on to them, They are bolted to the frame, with rubber in between so i can remove the body whenever i want to. Then i've started to cut some more **** that's going to be in the way later on when i'm doing my notch and such. The beginning of a floor. Then i welded some more 40x40x2mm pipe between the B pillars as an reinforcement, The floor is going to be welded on there. Here is a little "how it's going to be". What do you guys Think? //Foppa
I love it. They are a very nice looking car stock and with a little imagination even better. You are doing great in my opinion.
Ah, good to see your postin´up here so that I don´t have to visit your garage and actually meet you! Thanx!
yeah there´s been alot progress, but i have moved for like 5months ago and i dont have any internet in my house.. haha. (old school). i'll post up pic's soon..

I'm gonna go with some Ford -39 teardrops rear lights. The trunk and splash panel build up. and some wiring i will be better to post updates.. // Foppa
