Hi All, I just brought home my mother 1949 Desoto Convertible. In a collectors storage garage since 1969. It has an Automotive Engineering Tag on the block. I can remember their jingle in my head, but I have no idea what ever happened to them. I don't know if the "Stock NO:****" on the tag would tell my anything about what the re-builder did. The block still has the correct S13-******x number on it however. Thanks, James
automotive engineering makes your car run like new automotive engineering pleases thousands why not you I think that's how it went. I can remember a stupid jingle from the way back machine, but I can't remember where I set my gl***es 10 minutes ago.
I had several friends that worked for them back in the 60's. I have an idea that engines these days last much longer, so people don't install new or rebuilt engines very often. By the time a late model engine is worn out, so is the rest of the car.
Was it a chain of speed shops? Reason for asking, is that there was one in Clearwater, FL, which has since turned into "Gearhead Performance". The sign is still there, huge connecting rod which lit up at night. Not sure when it changed ownership. It was Automotive Engineering through the 80's and into the 90's.
yes I do, they were located in Fresno ca, here is how it goes, is our engine sick and tired want your car to run like new automotive engineering pleases thousands why not you!
