I'm a Director in the Film/TV biz and also lament the loss of film in favor of HD. Theres a saying in my business that I think you'll agree with. Video (or in the still world, Digital) shows things as they are, Film makes them beautiful! If it ain't got sprocket holes its a news gathering medium.

  7. i just shot a whole wedding on digital (500 images). At the end of the after party I broke out the Rolleiflex and did 12 shots. To me those 12 shots have more detail, soul, and character than all of the digitally enhanced, manipulated, and tweaked creations.

Me, i just keep practing. Everything learned is through observation and listening and watching. Something about being an amatuer. At some point i may look back and say that i have style.

  8. tried shoot 100 speed Kodak Ektar at night, not very happy with the result:

(also my first negative scan, need practice)

  9. The Royal Jokers First Friday for the season.

It was so packed with people, getting anything shot was hard. But i got a few.

Went back to color, shooting Kodak 400VC.
