So I'm repairing the door reveal on a 36 five window and someone decided to repair the p*** side floor with bondo. Who ever did this used the bondo like glue to hold some floor panels down. Ice been chiseling it out all morning just so I can bolt down this side of the cowl. Oh did I not mention that how the cowl was being held down to the ch***is.
    It just not right.

I'd rather deal with propane and a s****er for bondo......instead of the old way of having tons of brazed warped pieces, with no hope of getting the br*** cleaned off for proper welding.

    count your blessings crybaby:D

everybody knows the proper way to glue your floors down is with that bondo gl*** ****.

when I find someting messed up with bondo I burn it out with a propane torch.

Damn good stuff. Many uses, some I've apparently never even thought of.

No I'm pretty sure the chicken wire method is legit. I'm not sure about the starter kit, but the deluxe package I bought came with some kinda chicken wire. So yeah, it's okay to go that route.

    Ha ha ha...

Are you sure it was bondo...and not some of that new glue that manufacturers are using these days...???

"chiseling all morning" sounds to me like it is tougher than plain old bondo.

It certainly huffs as good as glue... I mean, it "holds" as good as glue. :)

somewhere in Virginia there is a '62 Falcon Futura 2dr with a front floor made of license plates and flex-thane two part urethane rubber... yup; i did that. not proud of it, but it's what i had to work with at the time. oddly; i bet the rest of the car has rusted away and the floor is still in one piece.... i used to test all kinds of weird stuff i was given while working at Bab**** and Wilcox.

Yep; If liquid nails and drywall screws had been available in the mid-late 1930s, Chivvy would still be contracting FISHER BODY WORKS to build wood framed car bodies for them.:D

I like to use JB Weld it holds better, and you can drill and tap it for hanging stuff on.

  30. Remember that these 70+ year old cars we're working on were once $50 cars that were patched up just good enough to sell at the auction or at some Buy Here-Pay Here, No Credit-No Problem car lot.
