I would leave it together, just redo the interior.
If you can find the painters signature, should be around the bottom of one of the doors, or cowl area, there are still a few of them around, on the WEST side. I remember seeing a few of these cars painted, and shocked at how much time was spent on them. Also I bet the "T's" paint job was about $2500 in early 70's dollars.

    Just my 2c

Bob Hill did paint that car. A guy named Gino Bruegeman had it here in Yakima in the late seventies and drove it. I saw the car my first time at Bob Hill's shop down at 3rd and Division across from the unemployment office. Gino drove the car over to show Bob the car. Bob had painted it some years before. All the copper plating and the hemi was in it when I last saw it. I seem to remember Gino had title problems with the car back then.

I've heard a great deal about Bob Hill. He painted my Grandfathers mustang a number of times. I was thinking he had passed but was told recently that he's still around the Yakima area?

Cool find! I'm not at all into the 'very
1970's-style' body mods, paint and interior,
(I wasn't wild about them back then either!)
but there's some really neat parts there.
Going by the mechanicals - ie - the early-style
quick change, twin-deuce 241 Dodge and the
Cad-LaSalle tranny, it looks like the car may
have been originally hot-rodded in the late
'50's or early'60's - and then over time - gradually
rebuilt and morphed into the '70's style T-bucket
that it is now. (At least who ever built or rebuilt
it, didn't yank out the '50's-style drive train and
"upgrade" it with the ubiquitous and virtually
    '1970's requisite' 350 SBC & 350 turbo!) If it
    were mine, (Ha, I wish!:D) I'd take what's there,
clean-up, rebuild, upgrade and update the chassis
and the mechanicals as required and then re-body
it with another steel T body - either another
    roadster body or a chopped T-coupe body...but
definitely *without* the '70'-style 'forward body
tilt', molded-in rear 'fenders' and 70's paint
    and interior.

Bob Hill passed away in April of 2009. I had the honor of officiating his funeral services and delivering his eulogy. Flames, pinstripes, murals, woodgrains,... you name it, he was a master. He has been and still is missed very much.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I was hoping to meet him one day.
From what I've heard he was well worth knowing.

Similar but not the same Autobilly. The T in this thread is pretty much unchanged since it was originally finished.
