1951 Mercury Flathead question

    No PCV valve, just road draft tube and breather cap, and quite likely they need cleaning.
    The distributor on a 49&up was no good when iot was new,and by now the advance system may not function at all!
    Either contact GMC Bubba for one of his conversions or get an MSD, amazing what a difference a good spark advance curve will do for even a stock engine.

    Ok I will look into weather the distributor had been changed or not, not sure how much of that stuff my father changed when he converted the electronics on the car to 12volt

    So quick update on the car was out working on it today trying to repair my leaky header outlet and broke the stud off inside the header. So ended up ordering up a set of headers from reds-headers let you all know how they sound when they come in next week.
    Also someone suggested earlier putting marvel mystery oil in the car seems to have cured the little bit of blue smoke that I was seeing
