My old pile with stock width mustang II front is in need of a front swaybar. The stock swaybar dips so far in the center it would be the lowest point of the truck. I would like the new bar to be as close to the 44inch stock one as possible. I measured an S-10 and it was a little narrower and have an older chevelle which is too wide. I had thought of heating and bending to fit but that pushes the bar forward too far and interferes with the frame. My question is does anybody happen to know the center to center width of the 78-88 G-body front bar so I could save some time. Thanks in advance, Pool.
Can you flip the stock one so hump is up? If not, http://www.welderseries.com/blog/2010/06/17/mustang-ii-sway-bar/
Thanks Phil, that was my first thought but the upswing interferes with crossbraces between the frame and building mounts to space it away puts me back to square one on clearance.
Ch***is Engineering makes stock width front anti-sway bars for use with Mustang II suspensions. I used one on my '48 Plymouth coupe with MII front end and it works great!
