Trying to help someone find a kit to put a 302 and AOD trans into a '65 Ford F100. No one lists one. I am ***uming because of the twin I-beam setup, because I can find a kit up to 1964.

Does anyone know who manufactures one?

    Thanks.

Towers/stands/perches from 1969-79 2wd F100/150 with 302 or 351M/400. And pickup 302 motor mounts. trans crossmember may need modified as the AOD is a bit different length than what was probably in there.

PS: IIRC, they bolt into the back holes. 4 each. Maybe have to drill one of them.

    Cool, thanks.

So any idea why no one lists a kit for the swap?

I am doing this right now on my 66 F100. A friend helped me do it on my 71 F100 a couple years ago (O/T, but really the same vehicle other than the sheetmetal). Parts needed are a set of engine stands (some call them towers) from a 302 from a 69-79 F100/F150. You will have to drill the frame to properly locate those engine towers. Trans X-member can be re-used, think it needs to slide back. Lokar or Ford rod/cable to actuated carb.

Send me a pm or email, I can tell you what worked for me.

And if you want to go with disc brakes the 73 to 79 I beams will bolt on too.

Dug this post out from a search.

I'm looking to take ownership of a '65 in the next day or two. It already has a late 80's 302 in it. But it has a 3 speed column shift. while I like the nostalgia of a coulmn shift, I want and need something with an OD. This will be my daily driver and I go about 20 miles up the highway each day.

I'm more familiar with Jeeps, and just now stepping into the Ford realm, so I could use a little Ford driveline 101.

I'm looking for an AOD, or some Auto with an OD that'll go in fairly painless.

    1. Is there a certain AOD that I need to look for or are they all the same?
    2. What's a good donor?
    3. aside from moving/modifying the Crossmember, adding a KD linkage, and shorten the Driveshaft, whatelse should I be looking at?

That should get me going on the driveline for now.

    Thanks
    Brent

It's not a k.d. linkage its a throttle position valve. MAKE SURE you get the line pressures set correctly or you will cook the trans toot sweet. you will also need a shifter that has an OD detente. RUN A BIG TRANS COOLER! AOD's hate heat. you will need a pre 92 trans or it's electronic.
