It's definately motivational. Sometimes I think about who's been in the seat, where it's been... things like that. Sometimes I talk to it. Tell it what I'm goint to do. Is that creepy?

A couple days ago ;) right about the time I turned 21 I went to work with the brown bottle flu. I put a car on my lift and crawled underneath. It was a cold day so I wraped my arms around the exaust which kept me warm and made it look like I was working while I cought some zzz's. I was working on sourkrout burners at the time.... I think europeans are into naps right?.:D

The only problem I have now is finding time to do it when one of my boys aren't in the driver's seat...

One night in my younger days I was working underneath the car around 2-3 am on a worn out piece of cardboard. I closed my eyes for a sec and woke up a couple hours later. Spent the "night" under the cars a few times back when I had more motivation than sense. Aaaah the good old days...............

I go out in the garage to make phone calls away from the 2 and 6 year old boys that want to climb on my and holler each time I look busy.

Most of the time I end up sitting in my '52.... long after the call has ended.

Sometimes I even make engine noises.

too often to mention. The model A was on the road and then the hemi started mixing water and oil on its own. now i've got to put it all back together..but sittin in there is motivating and gratifying all at the same time.

I'm sitting in my 32 with tools all over the floor and work bench. Grease and dirt on my face and arms. An old barber chair over in the corner. Radio playing oldies. The dog chewing on new shop rags. I go to church but this is really close to heaven.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one. Sometimes the first thing I'll install in a project is a stereo so I can sit in it and at least have tunes. It may be awhile before it's on the road, but at least I can jam..

Of course we haven't touched on "talking" to the cars.. You know, one can get upset if you're spending too much time with the other... Oh you think I NEED THERAPY.. It is my therapy! Ha....

If I had a nickel for every time I have done it in my 52 years... We would all be eating nickel soup

I`m glad to hear that I`m not alone in my fantasy world. If you are building one with a lot of interior mods you must sit in the seat to make sure everything is in the right place.:D

I did it a lot during the build. Now sometimes I do it to hide and have a stiff drink and listen to some tunes with all the shop doors locked.

Boy howdy, I'd question the car people genes of anyone who flat said that they didn't or never had. It starts out with is the thing going to fit and be comfortable to drive and then goes to how well one can see the gauges and where you want them.

I've got a hell for comfortable SnapOn creeper that is pretty good for a nap under a rig too. Lately it's been naps on a sheet of cardboard under the truck in the driveway when I should be accomplishing something rather than napping.

  28. It doesn't count as sitting in it unless you go Brrrrrrrap, Brrrrrrap.

    Did you mean like this?
