    Hey guys.
This IS NOT and add, or cl***ified thing. just looking for opinions
This one aint exactly hamb material. But im selling it to buy parts for my 55' Belair so i figure thats ok.
    Ive got a 5.3 LS2 engine.
Its an iron block with a corvette intake/ throttle body. the thing is complete minus ecu/fuel/ign/acc stuff. (basicly a long block) Im not into new stuff and its too expensive to build this for me. so im not sure whats a fair asking price when selling this type of engine.

What are these things worth or goin for or what not.?

    Thanks guys!

I suggest you just go to E-bay and type in LS2 engine. You'll get lots of hits-and lots of information. There's a remanufactured motor for under $3800 and an all aluminum turn-key for about 9. I don't like Ebay much but stuff is usually listed to sell for what it's worth.

call your local wrecking yard and ask what they get for a 5.3 truck engine.

Run a search on www.car-part.com. That will show you what all of the junk yards are selling them for. Unless the buyer can hear it run or you have receipts for a recent rebuild it is only fair to sell it for a core price. Without a warranty any buyer should ***ume it needs a rebuild.

5.3 LS engines generally go for cheap.

Depending on how complete they are, mileage and condition they usually sell in the $400 to $1200 range.

Don't look at LS2 prices...a 5.3L truck engine is not an LS2. Around here you can get a "pull-out", complete with computer for around $1000.

    Thanks, Lots of good ideas.
Never thought about lookin at completed ebay listings.
I didnt pay anything for it, so im just tryin to get whatever i can. Kinda funny
I broke up with a girlfriend and she told me to keep it *(gotta remember that formula!) so im figurin to unload it for like $400-500 for some extra parts.

    Cheers!

Haha yea, I half figured that.
I told her i had no interest in running or building it. But she insisted, sooo there you go. Ive got a single bay shop i work out of, and its only in my way right now.
