Does that frame use setting tape? .03" doesn't sound like a whole lot of clearance there. Pictures? If its cracking where it bolts together it might be getting pinched to tight or the frame might have a bur or something.

yes with tape....the .03-5 is the change in groove, tells me that the groove holding the gl*** is fairly consistant...the gl*** easy has .1-15 wiggle room without tape...and i agree, it seems as tho it's pinching too tight, or a burr but no visible burrs to me...good thing i have lots of gl*** to use....cause it aint doin so good for me so far

I have no idea how to help, I just like the word "blammo".

I can't help either, but I agree with Muttley! Also, feel free to use BIFF, POW and ZOWIE!

yep, need more clearance-remember that the body will flex and put pressure on frame/gl*** too.

  10. sounds like your missing something. if it breaks at the joint seems like you would have a problem starting the screws unless the the pins are bent.
I just did a pair of T windshields that had new frames from Speedway that looked like corkscrews. I had to use electricians black tape. then mask the frame and gl*** and fill the gap with ureathane. it came out good

i retapped and helicoiled(some of em) all holes...i've bent on, tweaked on, & spit on the pins, and i'm fairly confident they are straight....i cut some gl*** 1/8 smaller to install...think i'll use a small bead of urethane and the thin roll of tuffpac(comes in two thickness's)....i'm also bettin that the next words out of my mouth best be, i won or fantastic, or maybe even perfecto....cause blammo could sure be me smashin the **** out of the frame, WITH THE GL*** IN IT

I've had frames that felt very tight when they went together some times a put a bit of oil on the tape to get it to slide together a bit easier. But breaking after you bolt it together it may not have enough clearance. are you using the screws to draw the frame together or can you get the frames to draw up with out them?

  13. it actually comes in increments of 1/64, 1/32, 3/64, 1/16, 5/64, 3/32 up to 1/8
I've used black tape and friction tape when needed over the last 45 years in the gl*** business with zero problems

I just mask off the gap, fill with ureathane. spray with gl*** cleaner. smooth with a razor blade. pull the masking tape and it looks better than factory. with no stress points. just a suggestion. saves alot of cuss words!!!;)
