Having a damn issue that is pissing me off. I have steel rims with ford hub caps and they keep falling off when I hit some narly bumps.

Is there a trick cause they are pain to get off when I need to loosen the lugs but seem to pop off on the highway with no problem at all.

    Here they are...

But before I would start siliconing things the hub caps might just be jumping ship because they are scared of those radials you are running. Be nice to your caps and run Bias Ply!!!!

    Just kidding......but not really!

put a couple tack welds on the rim ,.and you don't have to dismount the tires, just don't get crazy.

I use a product used on aircraft, made by 3M it 's a glue back tape with a black gritty surface I call it non-skid. I buy it from a company called Aircraft Spruce in corona , ca. I'm sure they are online. Roger

I had this problem with smoothies that mount the cap in a similar fashion. Cut some slots in the retainer ring of the hub cap that snaps on the bumps that hold it in place. Cut a slot by each bump (4 slots). Bend out the retainer ring by each slot (on one side of the slot) to make a tight fit on this bent out area. Worked good on the smoothies (only 3 slots were required as they only use 3 bumps on the rim). This slot method was posted here on the HAMB but for the opposite problem. The original post was for ease of installation to keep from denting the cap (tight fit). I wonder if the caps I lost (before cutting the slots) are still in orbit?
