60 Pontiacs... lets see some.

  1. Here's ours, "Kroozado". Possibly my favourite of all our cars.

  2. Hmm! So far, nobody else has mentioned having that problem. I'm able to see the pix in my posts and I can even see the one in the quote in your post.

Anyone else having difficulty seeing the pix in either of my prior posts?

I can't see anything on your posts.

  5. Here are a few crappy pics of the ones I have. One is a 4 door and was purchaced for a parts car for the wagon. If I get a chance to knock down some weeds before the snow flies I am going to take some better pics and put the pair in the classifieds.

Part of me is bummed there are so few photos of these cars as customs or drag cars etc, but the other part is glad because it means they are unique still.

I'm hoping to go look at a '60 2-door post here in a couple weeks.

Uh, A 68 firebird is not a 1960 Pontiac. FYI.

This was mine for a number of years. Nice enough car, but it was very difficult to sell.

  23. Here's a buddy's baby blue bomb with 3 deuces and bucket seats that I rode around in a lot in high school. Lots of good times in that drop top Poncho.

  24. There's a lot of really cool pix on this thread, but I sure like these cuts from the dealer brochures.

"AF/VK" did the artwork for Pontiac advertising from '59 (I think) until sometime in the late '60s. Art Fitzpatrick did the cars; Van Kaufman did the backgrounds. Theirs were the absolute finest renderings and illustrations in the history of automotive ad art, the inspiration for generations of car designers and illustrators.

Art still has a website, and you can buy prints of these classic pieces.

We had a hotrod/custom used car lot in 4 corners Md. in the mid 60s. We'd drive over there just to see what they had. I still remember the 60 Ventura mild custom that was for sale back then. It's seared into my brain. I have never been able to find a descent deal on one.

This one does it for me but...

This one with a lumpy sounding 421 would work too. I'd have to put the three on the tree column in it.

  29. Thanks for the tip. I've got to locate his website. That artwork is awesome!

Here's a neat article about their work, focused on Pontiac:
    http://www.pontiacsonline.com/FITZ AND VAN.htm

...and this is Art's own site, which shows some of their non-Pontiac stuff too. If you're interested in ordering prints, this is the place:
