Event Coverage Driving a Kustom with a bunch of outlaw Hot Rodders

That's the way to enjoy your hard work. They where built to be driven, not in some parking lot for common folk to gawk over.

 

Ian, what a pleasure to meet you, had a gas saturday hope we can meet up soon. Next time its BBQ at my place!

 

Mick, awesome pictures. Sounds like you guys had a blast. I should have stayed another day. If my kustom qualifies, we'll gang up on em next year.

 

I just got home from droppin (kickin) Ian out of the car at the airport, It was a wonderfull week, chopping a top together, hangin out visting friends and showing ian around. it was great. I will make it an annual event if people want to go. I had a blast we drive our stuff all the ,and its alot more fun in numbers. maybe we could do this a few more times before winter, i will figure some things out and let everyone know. MIckey it was great haveing you along, we didn't get to talk much, but I bet it was fun watchin me make Ian grab the stick. he said he had never riden a rollercoaster, so it was on!! That seadn corners like its on rails, JD and clay did a great job on the frame and ch***is.Jd's truck is ussually right behind me, we love ch***ing each other around the curves , no brakes just grab ears and go, exelleraing out of the curves, it ussually does make the p***engers a lil weak, heheheheh. thanks for the pics I didn't get to take many due to driving.

 

There's the proof....Even Kansas can be kool. Looks like a great time. You guys got that hot rod stuff figured out.

A few of the pics i took, seems tho alot of people liked to stand witht there backs to everyone, ...............oh , and if you talk with Ian ask if he's ever ran thru a field in kansas nekkid!!! and the lil cafe in latham ,ks, full of cowboys and Ian and I walk it, i swear i heard the needle on the record player slide, and total silence, and to top it off they have a trick door that only the locals can open.................it was great, they will be laughin at us for a long time.

 

Mick- all I can say is COOL! Was this spur of the moment or a planned deal? Looks like you had a ball.

I'm surprised that the pictures hadn't been posted yet. Ian must have paid you for the
publishing rights. Or paid ya off... LOL!!

It was a spur of the moment deal. It was Jeff's idea and he told me about two weeks
before and I told him that I'd be there. It was a blast! Jeff had it well planned and all
of the stops were kool. Even when we were chased away by a bee farmer. I wonder
how Lathen, Ks will act when thirty plus cars will invade the town next year. They're
will be a line at the local restroom...

Hey!!! Let's not get out of hand here! I have heard it from a VERY reliable source that Kansas pretty much ****S, and is not very SCENIC at all.

The last thing we need around here is a bunch of hotrodders moving to boring-*** Kansas, where it's easy to register old cars, the property taxes are low, and there are still lots of fun country roads to explore off the beaten path.

 

Looks like a blast. That's the same area I've driven my Galaxie through many times this year.
On the way home from the hunnert I was coming through some fun roads in Northern KS, and I'm thinkin we should do a run up highway 99 from west of Bartlesville up to highway 36 in KS some weekend. Just have to find a hole in my show schedule!

It looks like it will be an annual thing, I'll let ya know. Hwy 99 is a kool road, I love the
drive from Sedan, Ks to Severy, Ks. Oh what a view.....

The bad thing about taken scenic routes to car show is your wound up to get there
and on the way home. We had no paticular place to go, so we had time to just enjoy
the drive.

I'll hollar at ya next time.

+1 on the "Kansas ****s"! lol Seriously, don't let the secret out!

Y'all might consider cruising over towards the Ozarks and Eureka Springs as well, if you like twisty fun roads, altho the Flint Hills are very very cool and have a sense of "Americana" about them that seems to be fading into memory way too fast. I'll keep an eye out and might try to catch y'all on the next one.

 

On November 6is mickeys cookout, anyone wanting to meet up in ac and drive the backroads over pm me, I will plan something.

Yeah, every April we have a MidWest HAMB-B-Q. Smoke some pork shoulders and drive around the back roads of Kansas.
