I will be visiting my Daughter and son in law near Kansas City the week of Thanksgiving in Nov.
Anyone know of car related places to visit, things to see, any events going on that week in The KC area?

What direction are you coming from? This place is a hour and a half to the Southwest of KC - it's worth the trip to me..

Coming from the east, Pittsburgh PA across 70 arrive Sunday 11/21 and leave Sat 11/27 with not much to do in between. This place open during the week?

Go to Lawrence, KS (about 20 mins. west of KC) and go to Baxter Ford Speed Parts.

And while in Lawrence, go to the Spencer Museum, they have ALL of the VARGA's originals from his family. If you schedule it on a Friday (?) morning, they will take you into the collection room and let you look at the originals.

And on the way back to KC, stop by Desoto, Kansas and check out Dean Wellers place.

Oh yea, Model T Haven should be open during the week, but call to make sure. Also, he is about 2 hours from KC thru Iola, Kansas.
