Mystery steering box.... PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi All,

Please can somebody identify the steering box in this picture????? So far we have drawn a blank!

That's what we thought but the mounting is totally different... any other ideas?

 

Is this a right hand drive or could the picture be flipped? It is from the UK.

 

The clamp bolt in the pitman arm is something that was used on Fords up to the late 50s(?) and not on other American cars that I know of (aside from Saginaw 4x4 power boxes)

if you could get some more pics of the other side of the box, etc it might help

also close up of the mounting, so we can see if it's part of the box or welded/pressed on

 

It is right hand drive but the box is definately from the US as the car had this part fitted in the US

 

other pics are tricky at the moment... working on that. Cheers for the help.... keep it coming we really need to know as much as possible!
