Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by alteredpilot, Feb 14, 2005.

  1. any one have any feed back on using spherical bearing end coil over shocks??

i have a set of adjustables laying around which i might use on the back of the 27 roadster project.

Used 'em on rockcrawling trucks. They can be harsh and noisy, not as cush as bushings, but more precise. I say use 'em.

Use them- the greater precision feels good, especially on a light car.
There are no side loads at all on shocks, no problem there

  4. Just keep the bearing balls clean and lubed. There are special rubber washers made that wrap around the rod ends to help keep the crud out.

Been using AFCO coil overs with the spherical ends for years. No adverse effects so far. But I do like the suggestion of the rubber washer/seals and lube.
