Thanks WZ. I really enjoy the history of the older, lesser known tracks. It's amazing how many are still around, and you never hear about them unless you're a local. Thanks again. Mutt
GREAT site! I am telling you guys - if you have not been to the HAMB drags at MOKAN you are missing one of the best times around! Heres acouple of the vintage photos from the site:
John, when I saw Chuck's Wiillys in your shop I should have remembered. I did not really recognize it until viewing the history link you posted. When I saw Harley Estes Garage on the door, it brought it all back. Harley helped me do the powerglide swap for a three speed on my 59 Impala back in 1960. He, Alan Sloan and I were involved in a roundy round car. (Mostley Alan and Harley) but some of my money and time. Harley, at that time, drove a 36 ford coupe with a big ol olds. The Kennel Motors(Carthage,Mo., 60 Chevy was a regular, as was their 58 Impala 348. Kennel bros raced Pontiacs, too. . Cool website, Carl Blanton's notes are interesting. too. Hard to wait for the H.A.M.B. drags
