Heres some pics I have found and thought I would share with anyone else interested,I am looking for a 63 country squire project, but not sure what to expect as far as price or rust issues etc. any advice or more pics appreciated.....I like the 63 front end, the design of the woodgrain on the 62 and the fins on the 61????
Here's a couple pics of the one we just sold at my shop this spring. Luckilly it went to a fellow HAMBer (hope I don't ruin your thunder by posting these.) This one came from TX and was VERY solid. Only rust issues we saw were a couple of spots on the floor. Otherwise solid as a rock. Nice car- I'm glad it went to someone that appreciates it. Jay
I'm working on a 63 Meteor right now, stuffing a 390 into it. Got rid of the stock front suspension and put struts in. Here's a shot of the 390 sitting in the frame between were the shock towers used to be.
Heres mine. Definetly a field car... I'm at work right now so I can't post any other pics but between two of my brothers we have two 63 Country Squires and a 62 Comet in the family!
Looks pretty clean to me nowaxn5, I would love to see the other wagons too when you get time if it isnt to much trouble, thanks!
You can see a pic of my '63 Country Sedan in Ryan's Cinematic post. Where are you in central KY? I'm in Winchester. - RBR
Ive already been checkin your car out I like it! Im in south central ky about 80 miles south of lexington. I live in a little community called knifley. (out in the sticks!)
The old fashioned way! Cut two coils in the front with shorter shocks and dearched rear springs. It's a ton of fun...
Actually it's a little under 2 coils. With the new shocks it really doesn't ride too bad. It doesn't ride like a stocker but I put bias ply cokers on it. All in all, most passengers are a little surprised that it rides better than they anticipated. My brother dropped his 63 a bit by cutting a coil and installing T-Bird spindles and discs on the front. Sorry 'bout the pic size! Heres my other brothers wifes car. He has a 63 also but it's torn down to the frame right now. I guess it's some secret plan or some shit
"nowaxn5" I've seen that shot before and the one from overhead. They are 2 of the sweetest auto shots online! Well done.
Scott A R, I know where the twin to your car is (except the red and mural) and I am considering it if I cant come up with the galaxie I want.
Here is my 61 comet 2 door I've been working on........Just finished paint last weekend. 331 Stroker C4 9" I will put up some more Pics after I get the chrome on this weekend Thanks, John
I am currently building a mild custom '62 Monterey Wagon. Here it is when I brought it home. It was parked in a tree row since '75 (ran when parked too!). Currently, the chassis is done, engine is nearly complete, and the body is on the rotissere getting the floor, rockers, and rear quarters replaced. Then: Now:
