Thank you. I have the body back on the frame and it is ridiculously low. I'll post a few more tomorrow. Great thread!!!
Ladder bars @ 57 1/2" with 5" diameter coils with Rancho shocks inside of coils. Ride height is adjustable by 3".
Mine is currently "digital", but everything will be 1-off. I already machined the 4-link bars from stainless bar and tube. I am in the process of cutting all of the brackets on a cnc mill (my first cnc project). It is a 4-link with a Watts Link out back. Yeah, it's more complicated than it needs to be, but since I'm making everything, why not be different? If you have the latest adobe reader, you will be able to "grab" the model and spin it around, zoom, etc. Don Click
Nothing fancy here just a bunch of miscellaneous Old Ford parts gathered up from friends, swap meets and backyards with set of modified "over the counter" spring perches added. EVERY external piece has been cut, welded, machined, heated, bent or otherwise modified. 35/36 Banjo housing, new bearings, new 3:54 gears, new outer wheel bearing races, weld on P&J spring perches that have been pie cut and the inner radius tightened up to fit the banjo housing. 33/34 Torque tube and drive-shaft shortened and mated to a new pinion coupling sleeve. T rear spring, stock height with the eyes re-rolled backwards and spring length trimmed 1" on either end. Model A shackles with custom machined spacers to fit T spring. 46/48 Radius rods heated and tweaked just a bit to line up with the slimmer early torque tube and narrower early axle housings. 40 Ford front shocks mated with 33/34 dog bone links to 35/36 shock arm eyes welded to the perches. The drag link has been adjusted to correct the steering wheel orientation now...
Check this thread out. Lots of 4-link pics http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=509851&highlight=link Here is my '62 Mercury. I replaced the springs with a triangulated 4-link. Just pretend the other exhaust pipe is there.
here's the only picture of under my 50' chevy's rearend.. it's a CE kit using a S10 4x4 rearend.. didn't have the shocks on yet here...
Glad ya liked it. So far, nothing's come adrift or stopped working. LOVE all the travel the air bags give you. Gary
Pretty well thought out, from the looks of it. Only thing I didn't see was the kitchen sink! Here's mine, some may remember from my build thread. I guess about 3 years ago. Maybe this is the year to finish it... (fingers crossed)
Wow-some very innovative stuff-Thanks for pics. do these rear ends have the correct suspension? -see pic from last years Winfield & Watson Gathering
Here's mine on my gasser project. Nothing really exotic, and my first attempt at anything other than parallel leafs. Used a pair of 2nd hand Jag coilovers and a pair of JEG's ladder bars and a universal panhard bar.
Super nice work on this one. MAybe you should consider a clear plexi floor int he bed to show it off?
