I suggested that, too. With like a light gray. That's where I got the GrapeVine/ TomatoVine reference.

Thanks. Once again, I brought my camera to the shop and didn't take any pictures. She drove great. I went to the Central Market by our house, which are the second worst speed bumps in Austin and only drug a little bit. And I made it into the garage without too much noise. Guess I needs to come down a bit more! I measure the front bumper and it's up to 5". Freakin' 4X4. It was at 3.5"!

I have to get some pictures for my insurance company, so I'll get some good ones of the front. And my lake pipes came in the mail today. Looks like a busy Thursday for the workers down at my street rod shop.

P.S. Flyrite has the worst speed bumps.

Funny part is it didn't look that red in the cataloge of paint colors.
It quickly went from Candy apple red to fuckin A red.

Looks great! You're right...red is pretty uncommon on customs these days...especially traditional ones.

Some traditional pinstriping now? Or no?

Blake, that is really close to what I was picturing in my head and where can I get that t-shirt? :D

Bass, pinstripes? Yes!!!! You know anyone?

Thanks Sailor, I think you’re really going to dig the Grille choice when we get it in.

Hotwheel, what can I say, you really were the key player in my keeping the car. You keep saying it was all small stuff and yep I’ll still take $35,000 for it. ;)

If I could put her on a boat and go to Sweden for a year of running with the A-bombers, hanging out in Enviken (sp?) and Stockholm, head to the Power Meet and go to every Jack Baymore and Wildfire Willie gig, maybe even catch a Sleazy Rustic Boys reunion and Sonny Rodgers.
J.B. my friend that would be heaven!

Hey guys I found the car I was talking about earlier in the Barris Kustom Techniques of the 50s vol. 4.

It's a 55 Pontiac built by Joe Bailon and owned by Dave Bennion.

I love the scallops on that car.
Anybody have any pics of it?

  25. Damn! I was just looking at that same car last night going over paint ideas in my head for the 55 pontiac. That 55 has some pretty cool paint.....

Yeah Eric, I figured you'd know the car. lol.

I dig the way the lines fade to the gray tips. Some thing like that would be perfect for my Chevy since the Interior is going to be Black and Dove Gray
From my favorite cheap-o supply house.

I should get Barrnet to letter JC Whitney Equipped on the deck lid.
Speaking of Ponchos, what have you been up to with yours?
