I have an old mallory dual point distribitor. For a 289 ford. the wires plug in the top with no boots. I see that mallory has a retrofit kit for the newer models. does anybody out there know if there is a kit to turn this into breakerless.

Yes put a pertronics in it. That is what I have in all three of my HotRods/Cl***ics. Works great. Follow instructions carefully.

Not sure if it will fit, but Mallory also offers the E-Spark conversion for points setups, basically turning it into a Unilite.

The unilite is a good unit and I have a couple of them in my street rods for the last 16 years without problems. I also like the MSD units as well and to date no problems with them either.

I think you can buy a kit from them to convert it to a Unilite. Go to their website & ask

I have several running on points alone, and they run fine. I leave the stock cap on as well.

Yeah, Mallory offers a kit to convert to Unilite as well. I believe they changed the name to E-Spark...and you can get a kit with the base plate, an adaptor for the rotor, the module, a gromit for the wires, so on...
