The 2011 NHRR will be a Thursday through Saturday deal, instead of Friday through Sunday. (June 16-18) Sunday's always a low gate day, and finishing up under the lights on Saturday will counter the heat to some extent.

I wonder if they do leave Bowling Green would they try Norwalk? being an NHRA track and not having the Good Guys show you never know what could be in the works.

The HRR isn't going anywhere and will now be THE nostalgia race weekend to attend in the midwest.

I have to say that I'm not going to miss the Orange County event , they aleady have to many shows at that venue . Moving up the model year at the West Coast Nats sure screwed up the vibe of a great show , go back to '54. as for the two Del Mar shows , first one is always a must do, but Thanksgiving weekend ?? I don't think that one will last .

  10. Thanks for posting Kirk!

I can't wait to see all the exciting events Goodguys will have planned around both the silver anniversary of the West Coast Nationals and their first trip to the brickyard.

  11. NHRA needs an East Coast Hot Rod Reunion and SOON. I vote for Englishtown or Maple Grove.

I know we plan on being there all weekend this year. There is just something about Beach Bend, I am going to get in all that I can with the cancellation of the GG event.

Any thoughts of replacing Poconos with a different Northeast venue?

Goodguys is always trying to do better, and always looking for new event possibilities, so I would guess the area will definitely stay on the radar.

Does that mean that all of the "best of" cars and trucks will move to Del Mar from Scottsdale along with the give away car?

Sunday's gate won't be as low as Thursday's. Will they have the Cacklefest after they finish racing on Saturday? I'm not following the logic on this.

The Reunion Reception will be held on Thursday night…we will have night racing on Friday…and all finals on Saturday. Cacklefest will wrap up the show.

    Thanks KIRK and Goodguys,
You guys tried like hell to get a Pennsylvania event goin'. We've enjoyed the events that you had and hope that you try again sometime. The weather and scheduling is a tough nut to crack though.

gotta give you credit, KIRK!, for putting it out and taking the heat. It takes a good man to put up with the **** and still be diplomatic.

I am VERY disappointed, but I do understand that Good Guys needs to be profit driven.

Just like a used car dealer trying to sell traditionals and hot rods to HAMBers.

Ummm, Interesting.... RE: Indy with no drag racing, that is too bad. I wonder how many more people will attend the NHHR now ?

Good to see the event schedule early...

Thanks for putting next years list out as soon as possible Kirk. That will give a lot of guys time to plan for one of the events including putting in for needed vacation time early enough to get it for some people.

Funny deal, The first rod run I went to in Waco in the early 70's had a StreetKana that just about all of the participants ran through. Those guys drove hard and it was fun to watch. The guys at Tulsa at the Nationals in 73 that ran in the StreetKana (autocross) ran hard and more than one car broke in the process. I'd bet the whiners that complain about it being an event are afraid that their cars won't make it through the cones except at a granny pace. If you havn't tried it don't knock it. It beats the hell out of waiting ten minutes for a pair of "pro" drag cars to get ready and stage to make a p***, now that's boring.

man, I hate to see the vintage drags going away...that's one of my favorite things. used to enjoy GG at Indy & then at BG. Now where will I go for my nitro fix?

cram the wheel both ways & floor it!
