Does anyone know of a source for the large barreled Mallory condensors? Some call them "beer keg" condensors. The real old ones were cased in brass & the one that I have is the large style but cased in aluminum with a stud in the center of the top for the connections vs. a wire. Someone told me that these were lifetime parts, but I'd like to have a spare. The new replacement is smaller & not the same. Thanks.
I don't think the "beer keg" condenser is available anymore. You may get lucky and find one or two at a swap meet. I switched mine over to NAPPA pn# IH-200. American made, works great. Just my 0.02 on the condenser subject. Chuck Fish
I've always heard them called "trash can" not "Beer keg" but nontheless. No, Mallory doesn't make that style anymore. I've picked a few NOS ones up a t swap meets over the years. Just keep an eye out, one will come along. Also, of the dozen or so I've owned over the years, maybe only 2 have not had cracks in the brass case. Even some of my NOS ones have had cracks. I don't think it hurts them as long as the cracks aren't huge.
