Shoebox help, please post pics

    I am going to be chopping a 50 ford and would appreciate it if you guys could post up some pics and a description of how much it was chopped. Thanks

    Im usually not musch to say this, but that is one question you should use the search bar for, about 1,584,392 threads about that.

    check out rik hovings website,there is a wealth of info about shoeboxes and many pics of chopped fords.I will agree with shainerman,the search bar is invaluable source of info.good luck.

    I just lowered the roof on my '49 a few weekends ago. Took 5" out along the a pillars and 6" measured vertical out back... Here's a link to some photos: http://s1190.photobucket.com/albums/z460/rpaciotti/. Those sail panels are a ***** without an english wheel, I'll tell you that much.

    For what it's worth here are a couple of pics of my '51 Tudor. It is chopped 4 1/2" front and about 5 1/2-6" rear. A good source for doing this is Tex Smith's book on chopping tops. You might find a used one on Amazon.com. As you can see I have fabricated a bunch more custom touches, including: front and rear roll pans, fender flares, hand made skirts, custom grill, a lift front (fenders welded to hood) and on and on.
