I have a chance to purchase a 28 roadster body for my 28 Chev roadster chassis that I now use just for fun to drive around my farm. I have a few questions that I would like answered before I buy the very ruff roadster body. Q1- Are 28 Chev roadsters rare? Q2- 1938 Muroc or any other dry lake in the early era, did a 28 Chev roadster compete and are there any photos? Q3- Are there any detailed instructions or photos available to aid in building a roadster body when the wood is removed? 40's correct style. any information is greatly appreciated, I am not new to traditional hotrods my other car is a traditional 26 T RPU done in a Thank you for looking Ford Farming
A1. yes they are rare but not expensive. A2. Yes Ak Miller ran a '28 with his brothers. A3. To be era correct the wood should be retained/renewed. if it will be covered then using box steel is acceptable and is what I did with my '25 (not really era correct but that is ok) '28 these pics are from 1940. '29 and a '25
Thank you for the pictures and information Jimmy B, It seems as a FNG I don't have the old school tie? I will not be adding my 2 cents worth on any thread any time soon just to get my numbers up. Ford Farming
