hey Guys and gals. Just as the ***le says I am moving across country this spring and I wanted to know if there were any hamb'rs out in the pacific north west. More specifically in or around Portland. I will be bringing my 1950 plymouth deluxe with me. I am always up for a few hot rod friends when I get out there.

am in eastern Oregon. It rains alot in Portland, so be ready for that. I think there is a bunch of cl***ic car stuff up there. There is alot of solid cars/parts here where I live on the dry side. There is alot of outdoor things to do if you likethatsort of thing. The Columbia river has good runs of steelhead and salmon and some of the largest sturgeon around. You also won't be far from the coast.

Someone from the board usually hosts a meet and greet at the Portland swap meet.
There are plenty of cruise nights and events in the Portland area and then there is just getting out and driving and seeing stuff. Sometimes it isn't finding something to go to but deciding what to go to from the choices at hand. The clubs in the PNW are pretty good at not scheduling the "good" events on the same weekends though.

Actually there are alot of events going on here in Portland once the car season begins. pdxcarculture.com is the ultimate place to find out about these events.
Portland Oregon is also the home of my car club, the Cinema Cl***ics Car Club :)

Join the NW HAMB social group. We have a lot of things going on that you'll enjoy. North Portland Custom and Miss-behavin-speed-shop are two fellows you need to get in touch with.

I'll be back in town in 3 or so months. lots of hot rod stuff..... almost too much actualy! seams everything has been picked over a thousand times, pretty hard to find project cars decent deals, everyone thinks they have gold. we have a loooong history of hot rodding/clubs in the area. another thing that killed it for the cl***ic automobiles is All American cl***ics, they bought up all the old cars in the area over the years and parted them out/ crushed them.

The Portland Area Rocks!! Lot's of Hot Rodding going on all year...Rain or Shine!! The Estranged CC (Thanks to those that mentioned it above) started the Voodoo Meet to keep the scene alive all year long!! We meet up no matter what...even if it's just us guys from the club. It's a great place to meet people, learn about events, spread the word for parts, help in the garage? You name it...all sorts of Clubs meet us there every month and so do a lot of "Lone Wolfs". The Swap Meet in April is considered the largest Cl***ic Car swap meet on the West Coast, it's been going on for over 45 years!! Portland was a Hot Spot for the Kustom Car Show scene in the 50's-60's (although I wasnt around), I've got a lot of Old Car mags from that Era that have articles on Portland. We've got Billetproof every summer just North of us. Along with many other shows and Cruises all Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter long...We don't let the weather dictate our Lifestyle...Yesterday we had about 35+ Hot Rod/Customs Convoy from all over the area out to Dayton (Very small town) for a Pumpkin Patch Run and Chili Cook-off!! Rain, Wind, and Sunshine!!! PDXCarCulture.com is an excellent resource for the 'Going-Ons' around here too...Great photography as well!!!

When ya make it out here...give us a Holar!!

    See ya then!

Thanks for all the good words Guys. I look forward to meeting some of ya, garage help is always a welcomed thing as well. I am about a week away from getting my 1950 plyouth tail dragger back on the road, It still could use a new paint job and some floor repair. That will probably happen when I finally get out there.

The reason I am moving out there is that I am just sick and tired of the south. Ive been here for most of my Life (20 years). I am ready to get out of the heat, and some seasons would be nice too. The lack of traditional tin rolling around kinda bugs me as well, we still have a lot of easter egg colored barbie cars rolling around and thats just not my style. Personally I really like what you all like, pre 60's customs
