A friend and I bought this 1/4 midget on an auction; it's in great shape, looks like it needs a Briggs motor and some tires and it's ready to go. Any help on IDing this as far as manufacturer and approximately what year? Would really appreciate it, thank you.

The nose is different than most. You want a Continental engine. My dad traded some body work for one(and it's trailer) with a broken front axel. I was too big to fit in it, but a neighbor kid did. The little car was very quick and it was only 2 1/2 hp. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

The best 1/4 midget restorers in the country operate out of Turner Auto Body in Kenosha Wisconsin. Lance Turner is the son of race car builder/owner Harry Turner. Gregg Kishline was Harry's last paid stooge. Between them they know everything worth knowing about the little cars.

They lurk on this board but are not, as far as I know, members. Send me a PM if you need the shop phone number or e-mail addresses.

PS: There seems to be increased interest in 1/4 midgets after one sold on the televised Me*** Monterey auction for $14,000! I saw it, e-mailed Gregg, and within a day he had the entire sequence of ownership figured out. The guy who sold it to the guy who sold it for $14k wasn't real happy that the "I really want it for my grandkids" got flipped so quickly. I think the "bargain days" are over for 1/4 midgets!
