Ok I have some questions: 1 who has diagraphms of how to hook up fuel injected strombergs wiring the injectors and plumbing the fuel lines? 2 who sells parts for them like harness and fuel lines and computer for them? 3 also who has good pictures of the set up? I just scored some strombergs attached to a 348 intake with the linkage less the wiring and fuel lines. Figured I would sell the intake and use the carbs for my next small block FORD. Would have looked way cool on my roadster with cross ram. Hope it comes back dammit. Well would like to get more info so I know my options Thanks
Are you talking about SCOT injectors for the EE-1 bases? I guess I have never heard/seen any other fuel injection setup for a Stromberg 97. I will be sure to check back, maybe I could learn a thing or two.
These are or look like stromberg bases with injectors under the ****erflies and the top cover where the bowl is is just the cover basically to hide the injectors. I did a search here before I started this thread all I could come up with was cl***icg***. But its gone no web site. And it was from acouple years ago. This way I figured by now maybe there's more info on them too.
I too would like to see more info on those fuel injected Strombergs. It looks very cool, I would also like to know how well they work. Also what kind of computer was used, what size fuel injectors were used and maybe any thing you might do different.
Well I only have the carbs rite now : But I do have a fuel injected 4.6 ford motor in my henry J and I run an in the tank fuel pump with the factory regulator set up so fuel pressure I can set. As for what fuel pump probably any pump that can produce 35 psi or more. I will shoot some pictures in the morning of one apart since there are other people interested as well. Check back in the afternoon Thanks ed
I also know I will have to run o2 sensors and a map and m*** airflow sensors as well. The one carb has a throttle postion sensor on it already and the 3 others have some kind of throttle stops on them for idle
IIRC either Rod & Custom or Street Rodder did a feature on a similar set up within the not too distant past [10 years or so]. Ed
Unfortunitly. That's where I got the idea from rod and custom article from a few years ago. Now I'm interested in doing something if nobody buys the set up from me first.
This is the Moon (now Retrotek) setup on my Model A engine. You need a return line and a fuel pump for EFI. Did you get the electronics that make it work!
Wrong photo above! This is the Mooneyes EFI and at 50 feet, there is a similarity to a 97. Note that there is a return line.
This is a thread that has some fuel injection information http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=338475 but may not be what you want. I have two injected flatheads that I put together, one with injectors under 94's with fuel bowl hiding the injectors and the other with injectors under the intake. Feel free to pm if I might be able to help. Vergil
check out different threads with "home made fuel injection" in the ***le they may answer many of your questions...I have had good luck with a Saab Turbo fuel pump, puts out plenty of pressure and is an in-line unit. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352354&highlight=injection
ok here are a few piuctures of the carbs also 1 taken apart too. there is no return lines so they will have to be drilled I guess
Return line not needed from carbs, use an adjustable fuel regulator before the carbs, the regulator has a return port that goes back to the fuel tank and the port to carbs has the adjusted psi port Vergil
check vergil thanxs will check retrotex too.QUOTE=Vergil;5789546]Return line not needed from carbs, use an adjustable fuel regulator before the carbs, the regulator has a return port that goes back to the fuel tank and the port to carbs has the adjusted psi port Vergil[/QUOTE]
Wholy smokes just looked at retrotek prices. Well looks like I will be saving for a while to get this set up.
wow just got off the phone with a guy who works or represents retrotek and at this time they do not and will not be doing anything with these nostalgic setups basically he said your on your own .
use a regulator back by the tank so you only have one line coming forward-- available in Jeg's or Summit. check NAPA for an Airtex brand external/inline fuel pump--**I think**part # is AR1000 for electronics check into Megasquirt--user forum www.m***tra.com
Traditional hot rodding. Electronically injected stromberg's? Sorry, I see the change happening. Lippy
well ithink in these tough times if you want to drive them out of state and around the country you will appreiciate getting at least alittle better fuel mileage. but if you want to stay local like most people I know around here then go with the carbs . thats just my theory
Ok I left myself wide open for that onei meant I get better gas mileage on fuel injectionfor that one
