Ok..I appreciate all the info, feedback, direction, what ever..I'm really confused now. One more time..My 318 LA dist. ( fits in my Dodge Hemi ) already has pertronix in it with the matching coil..Yes or No to install the MSD 6a box with matching coil..I'm thinking just leave it alone. I have no issues with the ignition setup the way it is..
    Thanks Again...
    Duane.

  4. Agreed.
I just installed another last week. (already running pertronix, ignitor and coil) Didnt notice much of a difference until I bumped up the gap on the plugs like mentioned. Went from .030 to .050. Made a very noticable difference after that.

  6. Pretty much the advertised improvements which have been mentioned in previous posts. Quicker throttle response, smoother idle, more power through the rpm range, easier start up, etc.
I could argue that when I first hooked it up, before the plug gap change, that there was little to no noticable improvements over just pertronix and coil upgrade. I then started widening the gap in .005 increments and running it. It just got better and better. Found the sweet spot through trial and error. I was surprised.
