History "Hot Rod" Show on HDTV!

Any of you guys happen to catch the Hot Rods Show that was on HD TV tonight? It was narrated by Chip Foose with lots of old footage and interviews with,Alex Ixzidias(probably spelled that wrong)Bruce Meyers,Tom Sparks,Blackie,Pete Chaporuis,Stu Hilborn,and a few others from NHRA Museum,Peterson Museum. It was done very well. The old footage alone was worth watching it. It was a 2 part deal,one right after the other. Hopefully it will be on again,for the guys who missed it.

 

I saw it. Yeah the old film was fun to see.

Here in MN it's on HD Theater on Dish Network again tonight at 11:00 and 11:30PM.

 

I'm DVR'ing at 12am.

 

Was it one episode (1/2 hour) played twice?? or did I miss the first half?

No, it's two different half hour shows.

 

That's right. I have DISH also,but wasn't sure if other systems would call it something else. I recorded the earlier shows.

Tom Sparks had told me that same story about running from the cops and pulling into someones garage,closing the door. But he told me some kids playing outside snitched on them. hahaha! He said he ran from the cops more than once. When he got his first car he tried to drive it home,he said :how hard could it be?", and wrecked it and was picked up by the cops.
That was when I went to a BBQ at his house a couple months ago. It was cool talking with him. Wish I could have talked to him more.

Sounds great, too bad I don't have any TV service. Guess I'll have to wait for it to be on the internet.

 

My derect TV says its on at 9:00 to 9:30 ... then at 9:30 to 10:00

It's actually, 4, fifteen minute episodes, so you missed three shows.....

 

At the end it almost sounded like they were gonna have more episodes. Anyone know if it was just the 2 part or if there'll be more?

 

Cox Cable channel 740 HDTHR ( HD Theater) here in Tulsa on now 11:00- 11:30 and second half is 11:30-12:00.
Show #1 and #2. Well worth watching...great history.

 

i like how they talk down on hot rodders from the midwest and the east. i think i know a few old timers that would disagree with them..... good footage though
