A cam with that much duration will want a 2500-3000 stall converter

Sorry I can't answer your other questions, I haven't worked on any hot rodded late model olds engines.

To convert your heads is easy, all you need is a drill press. Just drill the rocker mount holes to tap drill size for 7/16 X 14 and tap the threads. You need SBC adjustable guide plates and install the studs and guild plates, then use SBF roller rockers. The cam will work fine. Install SI stainless valves and use springs for the cam. I use the hi volume pump and no restrictors. Use the full grooved main set bearings and run the crank on the low side with 20X50 oil. I saw a tunnel ram on Performance boat for sale.

If you plan on twisting that engine over 5000rpm, it would be a good idea to get the block modified to priority oiling. This way the crank gets oil 1st, then the top end. Mondello and **** Miller Racing are the big players for Oldsmobile engines.

Others have this covered, but the J heads are not your best choice. If you plan to do a LOT of porting, they'll be fine, but in stock form they are restrictive smog heads. The most cost effective solution is probably E-brocks.

  10. "C" heads work well and are usually fairly easy to find.

Olds C heads come in two varieties, Big valve and small valve. Basically both are good if you have larger valves installed in the small valve heads. Do some pocket porting and relieve the exhaust ports by removing the smog bumps. All Olds heads have them but most do not have them drilled and tapped. Also look for E, K, or K with a small a. Some of the harder to find, and very pricey, are D, F, H. These are prized by restorers so if you find a set cheap, buy them, sell them and finance your entire engine build with the proceeds.

Try to stay around 9.0 to 1 compression for street motors. If you get Edelbrock heads, you can get by with around 10 to 1.

Olds 455's are noted for torque and in an Anglia's short wheelbase, it will be very easy to lose it.
