Nice car and I'll ***ume the rear bumper is being chromed. If the car had some cool tail lights molded in and the license plate moved to the bumper it would clean up the rear.
    I'd own that car!

I think its pretty sweet. I think the lowering / color is what makes it.

:cool:I think there was a Chy or Desota with a BB Mopar for sale at Macungie at the WOT. Maybe that was the one from N.J.

  6. I just looked at a 47 Dodge on the Portland Craigs List last night. 440, 727, 14,500

I was talking to the owner's brother this morning. The ch***is from the cowl forward and the back seat back is completely fabbed to achieve the 'rockers on the ground' stance. They never got around to retrofitting the rear bumper brackets. I'm not sure if it's in the plans. As for the steering wheel, all of us here in Northern New Mexico have a little "Lowrider" in us. We like that kind of stuff... I think it CHINGON!

I'm with you, that car would be even cooler with that big art deco DeSoto grille of the era...

This Plymouth is pretty neat. :D

And really, I like the Plymouths more anyway, the front ends aren't as long.

Chryslers are a bit longer than the Dodges. I had one of these years ago, (Dodge) but the fluid drive packed it in after a couple of weeks of use. In 1982, no body gave a damn about these so I sold it cheap. I've always liked the Plymouth body style better for '46 - '48, but they didn't make a three window in that era... Always thought of doing a bit of creative rethinking and coming up with a Dodge Plymouth hybrid kinda deal. Those Chrysler 3 windows though, wow!!!

Cant say it's not wild... in original design if nothing else. The "push me pull me" unidirectional thing has always bothered me about these cars though. I cant get past the fact that the cabin sits dead center on the body and the roof shape is unbiased to the front or back. Regardless that black car very cool.

    my $.02 anyway...

Saw a red Chrysler chopped coupe at the L.S.R. in 04 that knocked me out, looked somewhat like the one in this post but had the orig grille style. The black Dodge is uber cool. Only a mother could love em, not, they are so unusual they are beautiful. Had a 47 Chrysler 4-dr Suburban car, with fold down rear seats that opened up into the trunk, was kinda like a limo type hotel courtesy car, very cool. It is strange as you get into MoPar how stuff you may have considered odd or ugly become beautiful! ~Sololobo~

Mopar 3w business coupes are a challenge to refine a looker. Especially the disproportional trunk is something that needs to be made visually sleeker.
My Dodge is lacking a rear bumber, but I will fix that with 50' Merc bumber . I'm also planning to replace conventional skirts with cruiserskirts and give the car a bit of a speedboat look (rough sketches in pictures).

  24. There was a Dodge on American Pickers, the guy drove it out to appraise a car they bought.
