Man, Craiglook was by FAR the best one out there....and CLAz.com doesn't include Craigs ads anymore...so what's the use.
Yeah, big bummer on the loss of Craiglook. I aquired a lot of good stuff using that site. I don't know why Craigslist doesn't pull their head out and do something like Craiglook was doing. So there is Searchtempest and Jaxed... What else is out there?
One other way which is funny, 'cause google owns part of CL and is the push behind closing the various search sites is to use google advanced search with craigslist.org as the site. Example using 1932 Ford and craigslist.org http://www.google.com/search?q=1932+ford+site%3Acraigslist.org&hl=en&num=10&lr=&ft=i&cr=&safe=off No way to sort by price or location though...
Free CraigsList Reader Pro 4.2.4 from CraigsPal Its great, you can select locations all USA, or just specific States or specific cities. Or you can select countries around the world. You can use the search keyword to really narrow down what youre looking for.
I hope this thread stays open. It is important for info sharing on how to find our parts and cars with a C/L ***ist site. I did get a pop-up from the owner of craig look, and he said that C/L shut them down ! *** I tried a few other helper sites today without any hits, and i was using a rare "year and Make" car that I knew was listed in my closest C/L area here in Connecticut. I could not find that car with a helper site unless I went to that exact Connecticut area to search. I am just guessing ..... did e bay do this because people were leaving ebay in HOARDS, and some were listing on C/L instead and getting the same national exposure? Now, with craig look gone, it will completely stop that national market for the seller???
This site is a great source if you're looking for cars for sale. It has also turned up some unique non-ebay listed parts.
NO kidding man. You would think they could do that pretty easily. I wonder why they dont just do that???? I would check craiglook every day for a 28-29 roadster body. It was perfect for that, because I would have been willing to drive a little bit for a decent body. Hopefully another one will spring up soon.
It will never happen because it will hurt ebay sales even more than when ebay F'ed up their own search system. Ebay is dying a slow death as far as fewer parts listings and lower selling prices, not to mention m***ive viewer losses IMO Craiglook search system was faster at looking for a rare uncommon part or car, than ebay. Sellers started to see that, and were selling/shipping from Craigslist, but not having to pay sellers fees like ebay. There is no other helper site even remotely as fast or COMPLETE as craiglook was. I tried some of the ones mentioned here for long distance searching and they are useless. The above sites still missed a local rare car in my state ??? WTF
what did you look for?? I used SearchTempest and found everything I was looking for from 1 side of the country to the other
Give www.ownster.com a try. The 'parts' tab has worked well for me. Sources include CL, Oodle, Autabuy, Hemmings, Kijiji and ebay.
