I bought a couple cans each of the Roth Flake Bad Azz blue, base and flake. The flake is super transparent, so you NEED the base. Mooneyes has the paint listed as an all in one can, but I don't see that being the case. They only sell the flake cans, so I got all of my stuff from Sacramento Vintage Ford. The pictures don't do this paint justice! One thing......you have to bury it in clear when you are done. The wheels that I painted did not have much gloss when I was finished, so I used some Rustoleum Crystal Clear and it shined them up awesome!!! I did my air cleaner too, but that's drying. I'll take more pics once I get my skinny whites mounted.
haha oops! didn't realize the pics didn't load!!! Sorry guys, I'm at work now! I'll load them up when I get home this afternoon.
At least they are Bad Azz Blue Balls. haha When you say can, are we talking aerosol spray paint or do you shoot this with a gun?
This was shot with spray cans.....Just took these pics, will have some of the wheels tonight. The pics don't even do this stuff justice! It turned put great except that fat RUN in the clear to the right side of the air cleaner!!! I was soooo pissed when I saw that! haha I wish it was available from more places, I'd probably have everything in my garage flaked by now.
I was just looking at Sacramento Vintage Ford's site and I see the color but not the base or clear? Is it on their site or do I need a catalog?
It's on the site, Look in the suede and custom section, there's a page with the flakes and another section has the bases. The shot of the wheel looks pale, but its actually really bright blue
The Rattle Bomb product follows the same principles of painting as you would in a body shop..lay base, flake, kandy if you like and then clear..We do not have a one can miracle at this time but are working on one..The flake is in a binder/bal mix and is clear except for the color of the flake .We have matching basecoats for the flake, kandy and 2 part clear..also coming is a complete pearl line..I will post up some pics later, gotta get back to it..
Here's the wheel with tire......still lookin for some kinda center cap. I wanted to run the bullet ones from wheel vintiques, but they said they wouldn't fit. I almost wanna buy one to try it out and see.
I ordered a few tins in various colours from Moon to ship back in a car to the UK as they can't send via airmail, unfortunately it didn't arrive at Moon before the car had to leave. hopefully i'll have another car to ship some in soon! It's definately a product i'd like to offer my customers here if it's as good as it sounds, seems like a great idea for the average guy who wants to try flaking smallish parts, models etc... i look forward to seeing more photos.
