That's a '25 Miller... I'd call it a race car. It was designed to be a land speed car... board tracks, Indy, etc. It's a $500K car. [IMG]

Vintage tracksters, vintage racing speedsters. Not sure you need to include the word modified, the words vintage and modified just don't work together, do they? One means old, one means new or can. Cool car though, I like the detail to the suspension. That Miller really is a piece of art, not an unnecessary thing.

I wish I could afford to call it "mine". That's a race car in it's purest form along with being a rolling piece of art work. And all it ever needs to be called Is a Miller 122 unless you know which major race it won then it would be "the 19-- ----- race winning Miller 122 that was known as the ----- ---- ---- driven by---- ---------.
The history of every one of those cars is documented right down to the oil changes.

Check here, as there is plenty of info and more http://www.milleroffy.com/index.htm

And it isn't hard to tell that several of us including the leader of the pack are huge Miller Indy car fans.

Racing car, "Modified" is totally inappropriate. Nothing modified there, 100% purpose built by Miller with no parts in common with any sort of production car.
Like a Indianapolis car or Formula One now.

Amen! And "speedster" usually connotes a modified passengercar ala Model T or A where the back half of the body has been removed.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that Miller designed and made his own cotter pins...

Just a pure breed one off race car. Many were built in the 20's 30's for competition purpose only.

I'd certainly agree.. a modified, be it for the flats or ovals or drags or even road racing is usually based on some sort of production car. Gary

Aside from being drop dead hot. It would be neat to call it the great great granddaddy of the sport compact movement. :)
