    god, this is such bullshit..

All we need is someone looking out for us and just have a big luxury tax on the rich people buying gas hog escalades and hummers, then take the luxury tax from that and use it for environmental protection/studies.

but rich republicans like Bush and friends are abolishing luxury taxes on SUV's.

(i'm not left wing punk, i hate most of the democrats too) i'm just saying that this would be a better option, but as long as rich republicans are in office, you kiss luxury taxes good bye, so we poor are expected to do more.

  3. Don't ever be so sure. You can't legally buy a new car that doesn't have airbags. You're not even allowed to buy a car with an airbag on off switch. You don't get to decide.

Since its in our best interest to have air bags in all new cars, its now illegal to drive with a child in the front passenger seat. You see, those safe airbags can be harmful to children.

If you ever see someone driving with a youngster in the front passenger seat, regardless of the fact that the child is in a child seat, the driver is now a criminal.

If anyone ever presented this idea to you before it happened, you'd probably think they were crazy. Well its now a reality.

Sorry Ryan I don't usually waste your space for this kind of OT crap. Why do you guys think California can never get a balanced budget? Because of all the crap programs that we as voters passed. I'm tired of living in a state where morons from SF and LA can screw the state up for the rest of us. Never say never but I don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon.

Also, I'm building my Olds as Era Specific to 1955 or 56, so the only transponder that will be acceptable will be one made in the fifties. Probably would be huge and chock full of vacuum tubes.

    LOL.

News flash, we have TWO political parties that submit to the rich. One does it brazenly, the other still sells the story that it identifies with the disenfranchised.. and does it so poorly that they're eliminating their own party from government.

    Anyway..

The GPS thing could easily happen. All it will take is a couple of Amber Alerts being quickly resolved by cars that came factory-equipped with a GPS system. Once a story like that gets a push by the agenda-driven media, the voting public / Congress will see value in making laws requiring new automobiles to be equipped with GPS. Then it's just a matter of time...

If this does happen. All of you out there that are fortunate enough to have a garage, Lock your doors. I am picturing alot of poeple with gas cans and hoses running through neighborhoods late at night.

Its stories like this that make me trun more and more into a conspiracy theorist every day.
The upsiode to having a gps system in your car, be it old a or brand fucking new, is that if your car is stolen. If your car is stolen, more police and regular law agancies have GPS than have Lojack. They can track the car down quick.
Whats next, barcode tattoos, or the chips that you can get for your dogs? I can picture it now. all of your personal information in one chip implanted into the back of your hand. Just scan all of the items you want to buy at the grocery store, then scan yourhand "Thank you Mr. McLaughlin, your remaining balance is $xyz. Have a paranoid day!!"

Those chips already exist. They're being test marketed by nightclubs right now! I'll keep carrying the old wallet, thanks ...

    http://edition.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/06/09/spain.club/

"I know many people who want to be implanted," said Chase. "Almost everybody now has a piercing, tattoos or silicone. Why not get the chip and be original?"

This will probably be exactly how the government markets these to young people.

It doesn't even have to involve GPS. For all the states that have yearly inspections they could simlpy include an odometer check and bill you accordingly. It's illegal to tamper with odometers, so why wouldn't this work?

COULD it happen? Sure.... WILL it? No way!! We wouldn't let it, and if it DID for some reason, talk about ways to get around it. ANYTHING computerized can and will be hacked, cheated, pirated, and generally fucked with to fit the needs of the person who has it or get around the laws it's supposed to enforce.

A freaking X-BOX has more modifications available to make it completely hacked than a lot hot rods! HA.. I'll still write my congressman though.

Not if, but when. Take the time to reflect back on the last 5 yrs. The fine will be so enhanced that tampering w/Goverment property will get you time. They do not need any 'approvial' from a bought-n-sold Senate, nor Congress. They are holding people right now, Without Charge ~indefinetly~ because they 'suspect them' of crime. The Patriot Act 1 & 2 can deem anyone: American and aboard an Enemy Combatant. No trial, no phone call, no contact. Period. Go read it for yourself. They 'chipped the Royal family yrs. ago.

Guess what, guys...I ALREADY pay by the mile with my Peterbilt and it gets worse...I pay tax at the pump (most states) just like you do...THEN...I have to report my miles in each state every 90 days (via my International Fuel Tax Agreement)...If I don't buy enough fuel to cover the miles I drove in each state, I have to pay tax to cover the miles I drove EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T BUY FUEL!!! All this comes to about $8,000.00 per year...plus my license and permits..total of about $10,000. Just what we DON'T need is a system like this for our personal vehicles!

Well, I do belong to a local Mopar musclecar club, and beyond that, no, no NSRA/Goodguys/etc.

However, the companies I buy parts from belong to a nice organization know as SEMA. Everyone check 'em out at SEMA.org, and see their section under "Legislation". You'll see some scary laws they are fighting, just to protect the right of ALL car enthuisiasts!
